Re: Phil Wilson fillet knife review.
Excellent review, Lance, thank you. Congrats on your Phil Wilson knives! Not being a fisherman, I really have no use for fillet knives but I've always admired their elegant, sweeping lines. Contacted Phil Wilson via e-mail and we chatted a bit about his wonderful South Fork Spyderco knife, which doe...

Good to see you're still carrying enough steel to give any metal detector a severe case of overload if you come close enough! :D

Re: Back where I started. Lil Temperance.
Archimedes, nice collection, it looks just like mine. I've always loved these stout, well made little knives. Found all of mine on the secondary market, had to jump through some hoops, such as using Western Union, which I don't really like. Met a fellow countryman on this forum of all places, who wa...

Re: Hawkbills and blister packs
I like SURF's answer pertaining to Reverse S blades and the usefullness they have. This blister pack job is one that your plain edged Hawkbills are good for. Curious as to which Spyderco Hawkbill you use for these kinds of cutting jobs? It's threads like this that make me want the G-10 Harpy back m...

Hawkbills and blister packs
Dear forumites, do you also hate these evil, hard to open blister packs? I truly, passionately hate them. Attacking them with unsuitable tools can result in blood drenched, but still unopenened blister packs, while you get some stitches at a doctor's or in an emergency room in a hospital, in the wor...

Re: The ARK has landed
I think this knife is an excellent idea. By now I have noted three different names for it, Always Ready Knife and Already Ready Knife at KnifeCenter.I remember it used to be called the Anti Rape Knife in the beginning and I then truly wondered about rape in the US armed forces, wasn't it created to ...

Re: May 15, 1955. Vienna, Austria
@bh49 Thank you for reminding me of this. Yes, Austria welcomed Nazi troops with open arms and great enthusiasm at the Anschluss in March 1938, when Nazi Germany occupied Austria without a single shot being fired in it's defense. Austrians often became even worse Nazis than the Germans, it was said,...

May 15, 1955. Vienna, Austria
After 10 years of occupation following World War II, the so called State Treaty, recreating Austria as a free state was signed in Vienna on this day between the US, France, Great Britain, Russia and Austria. My parents and I, just a little boy, were part of an enormous crowd in front of the Belveder...

JD,
thank you for your kind words, you are the true advocate of hawkbills and spyderedges. They don't have to go together necessarily, but if they do, they frequently produce truly awesome knives, serrated hawkbills.
Please keep waving the flag for both, I really appreciate it.
