One of my favorite pet quotes is "My goal in life is to be as good of a person
as my dog already thinks I am."
I really do believe having animals in your life helps make you more human.

She's 9 weeks old and her ears are are perking up some, her litter-mates ears range from fully floppy to one of them being totally erect. I haven't named her yet, I've been hunting through the Norse Pantheon and historic german names. Lucia is high on the list, read Saint Lucia. From what I've learn...

geez guys. Some of you understood what was being said the others just don't get it. Don't you dare to belittle my love of my past, present and future pets. Last month we had to put our lab/queensland mix down at the age of 13 due to advanced cancer that was causing her intense pain and prevented her...

might be getting a white german shepherd
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa114/aerofocus/DSC00026.jpg I met and played with some puppies today and I think I might be getting one. She was the more quiet one of the ones there. She was still playful and lively, but she didn't nibble or jump up on me as much. I'm really hoping this dog wor...

So, I got two. Absolutely beautiful knives, they feel great in the hand and are stunning. I love the texture, smooth enough to be gentle on pockets, with enough texture to feel secure. Unfortunately the lamination is pretty drastically off on one of them. The Spydie crew told me to send it in and th...

Yeah, I'm still looking at doing the rescue thing. There are a lot of compatible dogs at some of the rescue's in CA. One of the things that really worries me about getting a non-puppy rescue is that I don't know how they were raised. I really don't want to have to rehabilitate a dog that was possibl...

I appreciate your info; this is something I'm in absolutely no hurry about. I'm willing to wait however long it takes to find the right dog for me and my family. I've had purebreds and pound puppes and have had friends with both and I love both. It's just that this time I'm ready to find a specific ...

Ah yes, those felines can be a bit sneaky. We've got 2 right now; the older one we recently put on a diet because she's been insanely lazy since my calico died several months ago :( and the other is cream with flame points. the younger cream colored cat, lily, sounds like your zorro. I'm going to ne...

Spitz/Nordic type dogs have a double coat so be prepared for some serious grooming issues with the breeds you've mentioned. Also since the Husky and Malamute are working dogs, finding a breeder that breeds for pets and not work might save you some headaches. Akitas are great dogs, but they have a s...

siberian, alaskan, or akita?
I've been researching dogs and I thought I'd see what experiences you guys have had with these breeds or any similar ones. I'm looking at breeds that are fairly "unaltered" and are similar to more primitive dogs/wolfs. I can't stand overbred dogs that are totally unpractical. My preferred ...
