Re: Spyder Holes from Factory Outlet
Hi GibsOn, Thanx for visiting our store. Glad you had a good time. We save the holes for the store, but as mentioned, it would be a nightmare to try to know which steel or model the hole came from. As far as the pendants go, we do make them in production. ( Value Totems ) Gail and I have just been ...

Spyder Holes from Factory Outlet
Hi Sal and Kristi, My family visited the factory and store yesterday (vacationing in Colorado from Texas) and Michael in the store gave my kids some really cool Spyder holes (the punch outs from the blades). My son, ever more curious than me, wondered if these are from a particular model or steel? I...

Help: Chaparral dimensions
Hi all. Quick question. I’ve been able to easily find handle length, handle width, blade and edge length, and blade thickness. Can someone with a chaparral, preferably the FRN, measure the height? The closed height from the spine of the blade to bottom edge of the handle at its widest part? Trying t...

It’s a Made in USA day!

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?
As Vivi quoted earlier, a modified/additional military was first mentioned by Sal back in 2005. Here’s a quote from 2011 about it; Hi Seventynine, We have had the Military on the design board for quite some time now. We've adapted a new lock for (stop-lock) and it's been in engineering. Then we'll m...

Re: CPK (Canadian UKPK) — Canada Law Questions
Thanks both! Here in Texas I can pretty much carry whatever, but the calypso family of knives (I include the UK/Urban/Squeak in that family) are my favorite ergonomics, and I’m love the simplicity of slipjoints. Sounds like it doesn’t need to be two hand opening, so I’m imagining the CPK will be lik...

CPK (Canadian UKPK) — Canada Law Questions
I’m excited for the 3.5” CPK, a Caly 3.5 sized UKPK is music to my ears. But I’m confused on Canadian laws, because I know they’ve gotten wonky. Is the law a restriction on one hand opening, locking, or both? Meaning, will the CPK like the UKPK and be one hand opening non locking? Or two hand openin...

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?
Bah, humbug! Somehow both these locks got mentioned and I got confused. Let's just simplify all this and make the Military 2 a slip joint knife. Funny you say that, because most of the knives I carry frequently are Spyderco Slipjoints, even though I can carry legally pretty much anything. UKPK, Urb...

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?
I'd feel a little let down if after all these years we never see a photo of it at least, even if they decide not to release it. I've been following progress on it since 2004 or 2005 now? Maybe someting along those lines? https://i.imgur.com/0Qul1Ej.jpg Pancake, I would buy that in a heartbeat. At l...

Spyderco Q
After wanting a Q for decades, I finally got one. I got a solid blade serrated edge gen2 model for a good deal at a local antique shop. Sal: this is such a creative and fun design! I may be hooked and have to round up some more. At least one with the Spyderco bug. Anyone else out there use/collect/l...

Re: The Never Ending Appeal Of The Old School Spyders
I love a lot of the older models too. ATS-55 era particularly.
I just recently got a like-new Standard/Economy. Stunning fit and finish and superb loud snap open and shut. I’d carry it except the stamped clip doesn’t have much tension. Slips right out of my pocket.

Techno 2 Custom Standoffs?
Does anyone know of anywhere to get blue or silver/chrome replacement standoffs for the Techno 2?
I can find all kinds for the Techno 1 but I believe they’re different.
Thanks!

Re: Cricket - due for an upgrade?
I've thought about a larger one? sal I’d love to see a new FRN at the current size—with the fish scale FRN. I know, nobody else likes the fish scales. Four way clip. Translucent green or blue FRCP would be killer. But if I can’t have that in some fashion, I’ve often thought another 1/2 inch in hand...

Re: V-TOKU 2 Love
You could probably set the primary bevel at 30 deg. with the brown rods, since the Meerkat (or mine at least) has a pretty acute grind already and probably won't require too much stock removal. plus, V-Toku2 grinds easily compared to most of the higher end stainless alloys. It might take a while, b...

Re: V-TOKU 2 Love
I just ordered a Meerkat—can’t wait for it get here and to try the steel. Quick questions for the steel and sharpening experts: My skill level is medium, and the only thing I use is a sharpmaker. Though I do have a brown medium stone as well. Reprofiling really isn’t “in the cards” for me. So: 1) wh...
