I enjoy many Spyderco back locks. The native series is my personal favorite. The native 5 is available in multiple steels and with frn or g10 scales and is just under 3" blade for legal restrictions. The native chief is only available in g10/s30v unless you catch a Sprint run, but comes in at 4...

My ideal would be bolstered, hollow ground, non-black micarta, wood or polished g10. For steel, something stainless would be nice (spy27 would be great). I generally prefer screw construction, but pins really work with this design, particularly with the bolsters.

Comparison. I'm going to pay 100-200-300 dollars for a knife, and if there is a possibility of misalignments, and on another model/producer/factory isn't (especially if the price on the model with consistently better finish is lower, let alone much lower), I would be pretty frustrated. G10 with liners, linerless g10 or frn native? There are options out there for the first, not too sure about the other two. Due to the linerless construction, the newer g10 and all frn natives would be hard to make scales for.

I believe Sal has mentioned the possibility of a slip joint from Alistair in the past. I don't recall if it is Kapara based l based or not.

I have the back lock version and it's great. If I lived in the UK or somewhere else with locking restrictions, this would absolutely be on my "to buy" list. It's nice to see more options for those who do.

I love backlocks and would like to see this knife, but I don't think there is as much demand for a manix back lock as one might be led to believe by reading this forum.
