Re: Looking for a second Spyderco for EDC
I enjoy many Spyderco back locks. The native series is my personal favorite. The native 5 is available in multiple steels and with frn or g10 scales and is just under 3" blade for legal restrictions. The native chief is only available in g10/s30v unless you catch a Sprint run, but comes in at 4...

Re: The Return of the Persian
My ideal would be bolstered, hollow ground, non-black micarta, wood or polished g10. For steel, something stainless would be nice (spy27 would be great). I generally prefer screw construction, but pins really work with this design, particularly with the bolsters.

Re: Why are so many people concerned with perfect blade centering?
Comparison. I'm going to pay 100-200-300 dollars for a knife, and if there is a possibility of misalignments, and on another model/producer/factory isn't (especially if the price on the model with consistently better finish is lower, let alone much lower), I would be pretty frustrated. Of course ge...

Polished linen micarta gets my vote. A deep burgundy would look nice.

Re: Ain´t life great? :) (Just a spontanous little positive post in these sometimes crazy times)
Great post. Having a positive attitude and enjoying the small things is important. If you do that, you can be content even when things aren't going well. Conversely, if you dwell on the negatives, you'll be miserable even when things are mostly going well. I can't run or bike in the cold because it ...

Re: MT28P - Mule Team Featuring CPM SPY27 - Release Date
The app alert for this appears to indicate that these will be available at the physical SFO location on Friday at 10am. Could you confirm this Kristi? Thanks I'm obviously not Kristi, but mules in the past have been available to order on the SFO website. I doubt they would change that to in person ...

Re: Native 5 scales
G10 with liners, linerless g10 or frn native? There are options out there for the first, not too sure about the other two. Due to the linerless construction, the newer g10 and all frn natives would be hard to make scales for.

Re: Atlantic Salt LC200N PlainEdge Green FRN
Hope it´ll come to Europe soon! I am thinking about a wharnie mod on the Atlantic Salt (and many had this idea before me of course!), now that it will come in ffg - It actually looks to have pretty similar ergos and dimensions to the PM2, so for my preferences it could be the "better (wharnie)...

Re: Fixing blade play in my Endura
I've had no issues with body screws on my teal endura, but as with most seki models I've owned, the pivot loosens if left to its own devices. I put a dab of blue locktite on it and it's good. I actually prefer a knife to come with little to no locktite from the factory. I hate it when I go to disass...

Re: Tip-down (heresy? maybe not...)
One day when I was sitting in the car waiting for my wife in the store, I pulled out my PM3 M390 from a sitting position. Don't know what happened? -but it opened up on me and slit my jeans inside out like nothing. I could just imagine how that might have gone tip down? Think I am good with tip up,...

Re: My favorite small knife is back from Mr Reinhold!
Looks nice! The teal peeking out is a nice touch. Is that a Benchmade mini deep carry clip? Sure is! Hand polished by me though to match the screws. It’s (in my opinion) the ideal clip replacement for the “spyderco small spoon clip”. So that’s the Rhino, McBee, and a few others I think. The clip lo...

Re: Spyderco PM2 Tanto - Availability
Pretty much what has been said. The S30v will almost certainly come back in stock, no need to pay ridiculous scalper's rates unless you absolutely must have one now. The second run lasted much longer than the first, so I'd imagine a third will be in stock for a while. It will be interesting to see i...

Re: Could use some help deciding between lil native comp lock and frn chaparral
The Lil native is great, but in my opinion the comp lock works best on a larger (at least 3") blade. It becomes awkward for me to manipulate on such a short knife. The Lil native back lock is pretty great, and the ergos are perfect for my hand, but the chap is supremely slicey and probably a bi...

I believe Sal has mentioned the possibility of a slip joint from Alistair in the past. I don't recall if it is Kapara based l based or not.

Re: Lil Native slip joint?
I have the back lock version and it's great. If I lived in the UK or somewhere else with locking restrictions, this would absolutely be on my "to buy" list. It's nice to see more options for those who do.

Re: Manix 2 LW Back Lock
I love backlocks and would like to see this knife, but I don't think there is as much demand for a manix back lock as one might be led to believe by reading this forum. They made a g10 backlock and it sold so poorly it was discontinued after only a year. I doubt it would make business sense to incur...

Re: Pattadese anticipation thread
I have the full size and it is very nice. Tempted by this one but I like bigger knives. Since your have the full size, I was wondering how well does the wire clip work with the smooth g10? My kapara has escaped my pocket a few times because the smooth CF doesn't seem to like the low tension of the ...
