Re: Most underappreciated steel?
I've often wondered why I don't see 14c28n on more fixed blades. The only one I can think of is the Mora garberg. It's inexpensive, stainless, tough and holds a decent edge. Easy to sharpen as well. Seems ideal for a mid sized fixed blade.

Re: Any chance for a Lil' Z-Cut?
I'd like a 3-3.5" thin stock bg1n paring knife, but I wouldn't want the offset handle of the zcut on such a short knife. The offset Is really only useful if cutting against a board, and I don't do that with a knife that short. I'd love a 8-10" zcut with slightly thicker stock for use as a...

Pretty much this. Anything on this list anyway. Voted cruwear/uncoated.argyle1812 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 1:29 amIn for anything carbon steel. I would love if the handles were any color other than black personally.

Re: Native 5 FRN in S90V
The frn is definitely not as smooth as the g10 versions with the bronze washers, but with use they smooth out pretty well.
I'm not positive about this because I don't have the maxamet version, but I'm pretty sure that stonewashed blade finish is exclusive to the maxamet version.

Re: Native 5 FRN in S90V
It's a screaming deal on an s90v knife. The cheapest you are likely to find, at least from a company I would trust to heat treat it properly. There was at least one case I'm aware of where a company was selling inexpensive s90v knives at around 55hrc which made it perform more like vg10. If you want...

Re: Jade para 3 & st nicks red para 3
Also, I don't believe those dealers rerun their exclusives. I'm not positive on St Nick's, but I've heard bladehq reps refer to the m4/Jade exclusives as "one and done" like a sprint run. Artificial scarcity drives up prices.

Re: Any interest in ~1.0 mm blade thickness?
Never thought I'd say this, but that's too thin for my taste. The only knives I have that are ~1mm thin are kitchen paring knives and I wouldn't want that much flex in a folder. I don't have any problem with them making it if there's a demand, I just wouldn't buy one. I would prefer if more knives w...

Re: Spydercos for steak knives?
I’ve had a K05 for almost a decade. Not sure I’ve sharpened it to be honest. When I want to do a solid for a cook I get them one of those serrated utility knives. They are always thrilled and I spend less time trying to explain why marble cutting boards are the spawn of the underworld . So much thi...

Re: Endela Vs Strech 2 blade géometry (belly)
Processing a deer falls into four categories for me. Field dressing, skinning, breakdown/deboning and then packaging. For field dressing (removing all the innards while still in the woods) 3-3.5 inches is ideal. I was taught that you want to field dress a deer with a blade that is the length of you...

Re: Endela Vs Strech 2 blade géometry (belly)
Most hunters I know use short bladed (3-4in blade) knives for skinning. You need fine control and don't want to let the tip get away from you.

Re: SPY27 PM2 Colorado Edition
That blade with a solid red, white or blue g10 handle would look nice. And I think the Colorado flag handle would look great with a plain blade. Together, it's just too much for me. If I were from Colorado, I might grab one and do a blade swap.

The great thing about Spyderco is, they have a knife for pretty much any silly knife law your jurisdiction may be enforcing. See: Chicago, ukpk, roadie, pingo etc.

The salt, Atlantic, Pacific and Tasman at least can be had with black handles and the salt and Pac salt can be had with a black blade too.
None of the newer lc200n models yet though. Unless you count the all titanium spydiechef.

Re: The upcoming Salt 2 ffg: Spydercos (Mini-) Bugout alternative and more? Perfect ultralight hiking knife?
I've said for a while now that Spyderco needs to offer something in that sweet spot of 3" usable edge that's ultralight. Benchmade is printing money with the bugout and Spyderco doesn't have an knife in that exact niche. The endela and rockjumper are more than 50% heavier, the ukpk has no lock....

Re: Is Police Model Stainless SpyderEdge C07S still made?
Hello and welcome. It looks like only the combo edge model is still in production. https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C07/2 The Spyderco site, at least on my browser, only shows in stock options on the drop down menu for ordering. So you can only see combo edge stainless police because PE and...
