I have been away for a while...
But I have certainly not lost any love for Spyderco. This may belong in "off topic" so mods can move it if they like. I just wanted to post here so more of my old friends would see it. I have gotten much deeper into the knife seen in recent months, and have lost no passion in that regard, ...

Hang on a minute. Since this IS a forum knife and we for once CAN gauge the market accurately , would you mind terribly putting numbers on that picture you just created, and then having the OP modify the survey so we could all vote on the colors? There can/should be some variation disclaimer, but t...

I do think knives like this should be selectively carried as mentioned above. Also, it's a defense knife for a niche audience. It's designed for draw cuts. For these reasons having an exotic steel and more complex lock don't make sense to me (YMMV). Echo that, and if you want a nice utility blade c...

I would suggest H1 for its toughness ( and to a lesser extent for its corrosion resistance) over ZDP. The nature of this knife makes it rather delicate, and while I like ZDP a lot, impact resistant it is not (assuming you are contemplating flailing this thing around in a SD frenzy, impact resistance...

I hear you I like the feel of a polished edge also I think there could be merit to a coarse edge performing better in some circumstances/steels/uses, but that may or may not align with your preference. I find it pretty easy to maintain a polished edge though even with my limited time lately (three s...

Yo RJ: Your micro bevel is much, much too large......! :( I noticed it was a bit larger than a *micro* bevel also...but if it were much smaller, I think it would be quite problematic with S30V (at least for my use it would be). At the end of the day, it is all about what works for the guy who owns ...

This topic is like everything else...there is good and bad in everything. More power is GREAT except greater magnification requires more light to get an image through the lens...so you need a larger aperture. Less power is GREAT because it works in a multitude of light conditions and you can get a m...
