Re: New 20CV Para 2!!!
With how light it is, it should be easy to Rit dye for those who don't like the color, I plan on grabbing one if my work schedule allows.

Re: Would you buy more or less Spydercos if they were all made in the same steel?
Definitely less for me, I have certain models I really like (PM2, Military, Manix 2 & XL, Endura) and I have several versions of each. I do branch out occasionally (Tuff, Hungarian, Gayle Bradley, etc) I'm also similar in other things than a previous poster, (Vivi I think) if I find say a hiking...

I'd say it's between Bibliomania and CBD.

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places
I had never heard of Campsaver before. I sure hope they are a reliable outfit. In spite of owning several hundred Spyderco's, I didn't yet own a Shaman. I ordered one from them now, we'll see how it goes. Dang, that's something like 5 new knives I've bought this past couple of weeks, I need to stay...

Re: Dragonfly H1 Hawkbill for self defence
What's most likely to happen in most situations where people try to use knives for self defense is your opponent takes it away from you, and now they have a knife. Without actual training and practice, no knife is going to help you in a fight. Your best weapon is a pair of good running shoes in nea...

Re: New fixed blade - need help
I also like micarta, because even smooth it has some grip. I'd like to see the handle with screw construction so it's easier to clean and easier to put on custom handles. As far as steels, I think it would be cool to see a nice stainless (LC200N, 20CV, S90V, M390, S110V) and a tougher tool steel (3V...

Re: Watch purchasing advice?
I cheat and use an atomic/solar watch. I wish their were more companies that did both. Citizen has lots of solar powered choices, but you have to get into the $300+ range for atomic- I currently have a Rangeman from Casio and its been unwittingly hit on metal machinery/rock walls, been snorkeling, s...

I'd also love to see another run of the Spyderench, my dad had the Byrd version, but when he passed away about 6 years ago I never found it in his belongings- He had carried Leatherman's since the original PST, but really liked the uniqueness and variation in tools of the Byrd. He carried it everyda...

Re: Custom knives
Since its a combination of man and machine, Id classify it as Midtech, even if its just the scales that are cnc machined and everything else is by hand. If a customer is able to say, steel, handle material and color, ect, kind of like the Benchmade Griptilian customizer on their website its a Custom...

Re: Custom knives
Just my opinion- Production- All or majority made by machine Midtech- At least part made by machine (closer to 50/50) Handmade- All made by hand individually by maker Custom- Made by hand to a customer exact specs for example I have 3 Big Chris Fixed blades (Maker on bladeforums). 1 I consider handm...

In my personal experience (I'd estimate 500+ packages over the last 10 years-not just knife related items Living in 3 different states and 6 different cities.) I've never had any problem with UPS or FedEx there always on time or early. I've had several problems with USPS, Lost Sprint run PM2 S90V/CF...
