As far as carbidizing (sp?) goes, you have to remember: whenever there's a hardness mismatch, one of the surfaces will wear. When carbidizing, you go from Steel (hard) wearing the Titanium (soft), to Carbide (hard) wearing the Steel (soft). Other than the sticking issue mentioned, I'm not sure it b...

I'm pretty sure carbidizing helps with wear, but most custom makers use it to avoid the stickiness that ti framelocks are known for. Without it, the lock can get stuck and sometimes require two hands to unlock. As far as the original question, Spyderco does it on some, doesn't do it on others. Milli...

I would recommend the Manix XL or the Gayle Bradley, but the Adamas is my favorite Benchmade right now and is a lot beefier than almost anything in the Spyderco line up other than the Tuff or the Lionspy. It's def a big heavy knife though, esp vs. the Para 2.

I wouldn't be be surprised. Theoretically it's a great knife. I love the idea behind it and after handling it, I can definitely say it's worth the price and Tuff, but ****...

Constructive criticism: 1. Thread titles that actually describe the topic are helpful, I think it's pretty much implied that if you start a thread you're looking for "thoughts." 2. Sometimes it's helpful when you're new to spend more time reading and searching than posting. As for the ques...

May pass on both in favor of the ZT 0600 Yeap. I will be all over the 0600. 0777 and 0888 are a little out there for my tastes. I like the 0777 though. Very light. That is one gorgeous knife, but knowing ZT, it will cost $888.88!!! I'll still get one, though... :D $599 MSRP, so probably $450-...

Spyderco I carried the longest was a Gayle Bradley, but it was often accompanied by a gray Para 2.

I think it's a good point that Spyderco's models have shifted their average price in the wrong direction for a lot of people, but I feel like it's just them reacting to the desires of the knife community. I mean, they have a good amount of staple products that are very reasonably priced, but that's ...

1979 BMW 320i my mom bought with like 500 miles on it in '79. I got it in 2000 w/ like 230k on it. That was a great car. I beat the CRAP out of it and it never gave up. My mom ended up donating it after I went to college, but I still check craigslist every once in a while trying to find it again.
