It's important to keep in mind that had they made more than 300, they likely would have sat around, unsold on dealers shelves for months on end.

Are you sure they've got the steel? That thread from early 2013 sounds like this is extremely limited, experimental steel. The notice states "we do have plans to produce additional products with this steel, just not in the Para2 configuration". They couldn't produce additional products if...

Puzzling why they would only make 300. Let's not fool ourselves and be naive and pretend they wont sell out and that they might "sit around, unsold on dealers shelves".

Believe it or not, it's OK for people to not like Spyderco knives. That's his own choice. Not every youtube video or review needs to be filled with praise and beaming rays of sunshine.

It's that oblong slot in the marlinspike and it is used to loosen the pin on a shackle. That's the best way I can describe it.

There was a discussion about this at BF (I think - I don't think it was here, but I could be wrong) within the last year. Someone posted a link to a very small threaded insert that they used to provide a much more secure clip attachment than simply drilling and tapping the G10. Just a heads up, he ...

I've discovered that "Buy American" no longer holds the same meaning that it once held in the 50's-60's-70's. I've owned Fords made in Mexico, Dodge's made in Canada and my last Toyota truck was made here in California.

In my opinion, it truly is a global economy.

Considering how many people over the years have been yipping and yapping about wanting a Dyad, there isn't a lot of fanfare or chatter for the sprint Dyad they released a few months ago. I think the picture above is the first picture I've seen of it 'in the wild'. Based on this somewhat lukewarm rec...

I agree with Deacon (and others) that the recent handle patterns are too busy and detract from the beauty of the designs. I was not a fan of the green diamond scales on my forum native nor of any of the patterned CF or titanium. I also LOVE the CF/G10 on my Sage 1 more than any other scale material...

I have read reports of items deflecting gunshots when carried in someones pocket such as a book, cell-phone, police badge, glasses etc. so it would not be unreasonable for a pocket knife, Spyderco or otherwise, to be on that list.

It is a sad but true thing to note that the Chinese do not care about quality. What most people do not understand is that for the Chinese, money is god and getting money, no matter how, is godliness. Corporate America follows these philosophies as well. Read up on the business practices of Apple, G...

Part of me thinks Sal was being facetious (like joking) when he said that. I can fully understand scrapping all the blades because they were faulty, but there was nothing wrong with the handles so it would seem unnecessary and wasteful to throw those away.

Odd... In the picture, the thumb stud and surrounding area appears to be 100% intact.
