Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Now let me ask you a question about this in the form of three hypothetical Spyderco customers, each of them from Canada. Now, say each of these Canadians has travelled to Colorado for a nice US visit, and went to the Spyderco Outlet store in Golden, Colorado. Each of them fall in love with the Spyd...

Yup. Makes this even sillier. I walk around like Rambo in cottage country but try to bring a small flipper across the border? Basically a criminal. :rolleyes:Vivi wrote:Can't you folks still carry fixed blades?Jazz wrote:Pingo. Getting ready for the future.

Re: Opening & Closing Rating?
Fair enough - I'm not much into flipping so perhaps not the Baliyo, but it's a good idea to back off the use of a cutting tool for anything other than its intended purpose. Zhyla's feedback on the vertical play in older backlocks makes sense, and I think Darby's hunch on the ball bearing as class-l...

Re: The Delica 4: Timeless Classic or Long in the Tooth?
The Buck 110 is long In the tooth (50+ years) IMO but still sells like crazy. I would assume the Delica (and PM2 and Endura) account for a substantial portion of Spyderco’s overall knife sales, so why change them? Almost every knife store I have visited has either a Delica or Endura on display. They...

Re: Recommend me some models
If you are just starting, try to figure out what you like and don’t. Also, do you have any limitations like legal blade length for your area. Need steel to be stainless or can you dip into the more exotic options? What lock type do you like (back lock, compression lock, frame/ liner, bearing lock, ...

Re: All you can eat/Buffet Restaurants: Your opinions and views?
When I am in the US, I love people watching at Ponderosa during the breakfast buffet. Make me feel healthy.
In Canada we mainly have Chinese buffets that are pretty gross.
The only “all you can eat” I ever do is sushi as a place near me is really good.

Re: What Spyderco have you lent to a friend, who broke it through mishandling?
Same with my guitars and other expensive stuff, I only lend out what wouldnt give me a breakdown if it gets damaged. The only Spyderco I have lent out has been my Tenacious to a friend up north. He scratched it a bit, but my Para 3 was still safe in my pocket. No big deal. That sucks about the Chubb...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Switchblades, balisongs, etc., I get it.... a Spydiehole or Benchmade thumbstud? Not really. Really? What makes balisongs or autos worth banning? The public’s general perception of these being “weapons” vs. “Tools”. I personally have nothing against either, but these being banned or regulated, Isnt...

Just got a NIB GB1 today. That video made me excited to see how mine will look in five years. 5 years? My Gayle Bradley (2) looked like that after two weeks. M4 steel and Margaritas don’t mix. If you want patina, cut a few limes and a pastrami sammich with extra mustard. ;) P.s. congrats on t...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
I just don't understand AO knives. I knew this was just a matter of time. To me they are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I agree in the case of most flippers, but I can’t see knives being outlawed just because of a Spyderhole, thumb stud, etc. I can loosen almost any knife enough to ope...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
This is idiotic. I can legally still buy a Southard flipper in Canada (and a ton of other flippers and assisted folders) from local retailers, but if I get caught bringing it across the border, it is confiscated. But I can still walk around in public with my 18” blade (24”overall) machete. Yup, that...

Re: Back door Canadian knife ban?
That won’t make a difference... From the ruling: Finally, the Tribunal has recognized that the determination of whether a knife is a prohibited weapon should not turn on easily adjustable features of an individual knife (such as the tightness of a pivot screw) when the overall design of a model is ...

Re: Back door Canadian knife ban?
Our weapon laws are nuts. I can open carry my Kershaw machete with an 18” blade, but can’t import a folder with 2.5” blade that can be flicked open. Okie dokie. All of my Benchmades and Spydercos I import from the US have their pivots tightened. I always ask for this to be done in the shi...

Most online shops also have a retail outlet. Everyone of them is getting killed by Amazon......... Yup. MAP might not make everyone jump for joy but I really don’t want to buy absolutely everything I require to live (knives, medication, clothes, food, beer, tools, etc.) exclusively from Amazon, eBa...

Re: Shaman vs Gayle Bradley(2)
The GB2 is the sharpest out of the box and best built knife I own. Just incredible IMO. With the exception of my carbon Moras, it is also my least corrosion resistant. And hard to sharpen. Not a GB2 thing, just a M4 thing. If you really like shiny things, I would look at the Shaman. The GB will go f...

My tenacious came tip up, same with my c95 manix Possibly your Tenacious wasn't totally new. Check the photos on the Spyderco website- they all show tip down. The 4 that I bought new all came tip down. Same here. My Tenacious’ came new tip down. Switched them within 2 min. I can’t stand tip down. J...

Re: Crappy service & product
How could you not know a blade was at least a tiny bit loose let alone 2 screws with loc-tite just about to both fall off at the same time? Maybe someone is trying to injure you.
At least the positive is that the loose falling blade didn’t cut off your nads then your big toe.
