Re: Removing the Digi camo from paramilitary 2
I wish they would offer some models in natural g10. I have natural g10 scales on one of my Mules and love it. Put a thin layer of liner material under natural g10 and it gets better;)

Re: getting manix 2 smooth
I have owned almost a dozen variations of the Manix 2. Some were smooth, and others are not. I don't think it's a spring tension issue. I believe it is more of how the backspacer is laser cut, and ball ramp design on newer models. Some are very rough where the lock ball slides when opening and closi...

Re: Thoughts on modified Wharncliffe?
I prefer a Wharnie wether modified or not over pretty much any blade shape. I also like a Sheepfoot blade as well. They handle all my day to day cutting chores perfectly well. I also find them aesthetically pleasing. I would be more than ok with Spyderco offering more Wharnecliffe knives, especially...

Re: It was bound to happen eventually
welcome to the club Evil! Broke the tip off mine a few years ago, and my buddy called me the other day saying he broke the tip off his. It's actually a pretty easy fix. I used my 1X30 belt sander and took a little off the spine. A little hand sanding with a sanding block, and it looks like new.

Re: First knife for new Marine
I'm not going to pretend to know what a Marine would need as far as cutlery goes, but a fixed blade seems like a better choice. Something that is built with full tang construction for strength. I'm not saying anything huge and heavy, just of robust build so it won't fail him in the field. The upcomi...

Re: Manix CBBL or Mid Back Lock?
I like both, but prefer the back lock version. If they did a update on the back lock like on the N5 we would have a winner that would probably be as strong or stronger than the lock on a Tatanka. I like the Manix 2, and have many of them, but the plastic ball cage is kind of hokey, not that I have e...

In the movie Heat with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock there is a Spyderco Rock Salt hanging in Melissa McCarthy's characters gun safe.

I thought the same thing Jazz. Not a fan of liner locks. A comp lock or back lock would have been better.

I'm down for the sprint run Rock Salt. I have kicked myself for not getting the original. Not to mention a handle with color this time!

Serrata lanyard hole.
Just wondering if anyone knows if the tang on a Serrata is completely solid, or skeletonized under the scales. The reason I ask is that I would like to add a lanyard hole to mine. If it's solid, probably would be quite difficult to drill a hole in the tang.

Looks like a slightly larger Calypso Jr.
Good job. It is useful again, and nothing wrong with a Wharnecliffe.

Re: Ulize Doubts
This is the reason why I quit purchasing the Japanese made models unless I can inspect them in person. Just my personal experience, yours may vary.
I would send it back. It looks like the grind is probably off center at the tip, could be the angle of the picture as well.

Re: The Civilian - Opinions please.
I had a Tuffram model for several years that I recently traded. The Civilian is a very nice, though highly specialized knife. You would think that if you had to pull it out and use it for what it was intended that the assailant would stop and think......don't know if I want to mess with getting cut ...

Re: Fixed Blades versus Folders?
Over this past year I have started gravitating towards fixed blades more. I carry one most days as well as a folder. The only Fixed blade Spydies I have that are legal to carry are a Swick 2, 3 , Serrata, and a Ronin 2. I really don't have a reason to carry a fixed blade most of the time, but I have...

Re: Nilakka user feedback
I like mine, but don't carry it much due to the clip design. It grips my pockets too tightly, and it's deep carry also. A lanyard hole would do wonders for the design. Leather is about the only test medium I have tried it on, and I can say it works well for that. I could see why it might have a prob...

Re: Do you or have you ever edc'd a fixed blade
I carry a fixed blade pretty much every day. I usually have my Ronin2, 511 Tactical wharnecliff, or my Kabar Wharnstalker. All three are legal to carry according to state and local Law. I get a few gasps every now and then when I pull one out to use it, but am within my rights. Honestly my EDC carry...
