Wait there's a Call 3.5 LW coming out? I've been out of the loop. I'm buying that.

Re: FRN Strength / Durability

It is ironic that the less expensive scale material, FRN, is the one I like the best. Usually I like the expensive option. I understand the high cost of injection molds, but once they are made, the cost per scale goes way down. FRN is light, tough, comfortable in hand, and easy on pockets. The trac...

Re: Curved SE blade w/Compression lock?

I don't dislike SE hawkbills. But the ratio of SE hawkbills to PE hawkbills in the Spyderco catalog is glaring. How about some variety? And yes I do own a PE tasman. Hey I've always been about having a nice selection ( variety). I've been about the only one to suggest even doing the bigger Hawkbill...

Re: FRN Strength / Durability

I've never broken frn of any company and I do think Spyderco has the best frn. I have really pressed my Native 5 on a task once. It got to the point where it was creaking (I can't even remember what I was doing) but it was completely fine after that.

Re: First time buyer… which model would you choose?

I'd avoid YouTubers telling you what to get. Delica is a great option. Para 3 is also great if you want to spend more. If you want lightweight but a high quality feel and US made, I'd go Native 5. My first was the PM2 but if I could go back in time, it would have been a Native 5 lightweight (all bla...

Re: "Smooth" vs "Fine" G10 on Golden models

I have the smooth g10 knifecenter cru wear pm2 from 2017-2018. I also have the back lock manix. They're different, as was said about. The g10 on the back lock manix is very nice, I really like the feel.

Re: Delica 4 S30V scales color

Might also keep your eyes out for the Zone sprint run from 2017 or 2018. There were a couple color combos and they were in S30v. I got the yellow and green one. I'm not sure if the pop up on the used market ever or not. I like mine though the blade feels like it's ground thicker behind the edge than...

Re: vg-10 observations (and SPY27 it's seeming)

VG-10 is a fine steel. For my basic pocket knife uses, no issue. Good in kitchen knives, as well. I do prefer either S30v or 154cm as all around pocket knife steels, but if it a choice between budget D2 or VG-10, I'm taking the VG-10.

Re: What knife do you carry clipless?

My Native 5 in fluted carbon fiber. When changing the position of the pocket clip, the screw got stuck or the threads in the insert were stripped. I can't remember. Spyderco got the screw out but the tip up right hand position now can't be used. So, now I carry it clipless with a leather lanyard. Ca...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Two new and good Kershaws Link in 20cv and Dividend with composite blade of CPM D2 and N690. The Link is a lil heavy and I need to lower the edge angle, though it is very very sharp. Will ne a good bruiser. The Dividend is thin and light, with good thin blade stock and what feels thin BTE. Not crazy...

Re: Has the Coronavirus affected your daily life?

Here in Tulsa people are worried but not much change yet. I work in education and spring break has been elongated by a week. We'll see if we make it even longer. Not too worried either way. Toilet paper hunting is an annoying hobby. Things keep getting cancelled and the bars aren't as busy. Otherwis...

Re: What "others" are in the mail?

If I were to get any Benchmade right now, other than the bronze m4 Presidio I got recently, it would be the new M4 and aluminum handle Bailout. That thing looks really cool and I low-key want a tanto blade. Though, I would prefer one hollow ground on the main portion and flat on the secondary porti...

If we're talking blade shapes... A traditional spear point is my preferred. Wharncliffe #2. Leaf shape number #3 but isn't that far from a spear point anyway.

Really not heavy either. 3.3ish blade with a handle you can get your whole around. Very comfortable and Idk just great. ...
