I asked for a ZDP Manbug but I intend to slip some cash under the cookies for Santa to make sure I also get a Southard.

Not mine, but I saw this picture of a worn Sebenza the other day. I don't own a Sebenza, but if you watch the Blade HQ tour of CRK, you end up wanting one. Image

You should be able to find one under MSRP new online I would imagine. Why go through the hassle and pay a premium?

I wouldn't mind having a Sesto Elemento in my driveway. The carbon fiber would match pretty well with my Sage 1. :D

V-10 producing 570 HP while weighing 2200 lbs (999 kg). That's a pretty decent weight to power ratio.

Nah, he's carried a pocket knife everyday for 60 years. He would never leave the house without one. Liquid Cobra, you probably have the right idea. I think he would be blown away by the mnandi. It's not my style, but I have to remember I'm trying to buy what HE would like, not what I would like! ;)...

I'll second the idea of going with a Ladybug or Manbug for his keychain. If a daily carry is something he doesn't already do and seems resistant to, then getting him something for his keychain might be perfect. The Manbug G-10 might be a good idea since it's bolsters invoke a bit of old school style...

Wish I saw the G-10 Jester at Warriors and Wonders. I've been trying to find one at a decent price and it's pretty ridiculously hard these days. Hopefully another sprint happens in the future so I can easily get my hands on one of these bad boys.

Man, I forgot how absolutely beautiful the Ferrari 250 GTO is. From an design perspective, I don't know if it's possible to make a sexier looking car.

I think that is a good idea. I'm curious if that sort of change still works with the intention of the Sage series or not? Does the actual thumbstud used to actuate the bolt action lock have to be in the spirit of what Blackie Collins designed or can that be altered to make it more friendly to work?

Dragonfly or Chapparel if he wants an actual pocket knife or a G-10 or ZDP FRN Manbug if he wants to attach it to a keychain.

Well, how many other knives in your collection have a nice patina on them? If you prefer it to look unique, go with the patina, if you prefer it to stay with the same aesthetic as the rest of the collection, keep the patina at bay.

Other than the Bugs, are there even Spydercos under $30? I think a better idea for the challenge is just to pick your least expensive knife and carry that for the week. That way it scales automatically to people's collections.

My girlfriend has a MAC Chef's knife, the pro line I believe that she adores. Just about any chef's knife will be fine with the sharpmaker so don't knife shop with that as a worry.

I find that if I do some real light passes on the fine stones of my Sharpmaker after the medium stone, that gets me my best edge with S30V. But I mean, barely even the weight of the knife light.

One thing to keep in mind is that is pretty cool, is that the DLC coating on the blade is actually tougher than the steel underneath it. At least that is what I've read and the abuse videos I've seen collaborate that little factoid. One video I saw had someone taking a DLC coated Paramilitary 2 thro...
