I own 20-plus Spydies and one CRK large regular Sebenza in S30V. IMO, the Sebenza is worth every penny I paid for it. However, out of the box the blade was not as sharp as I like, and even less so closer to the tip of the blade. The edge was a bit thick, so I spent some time on and off over several ...

Li'l Temperance: adjustable pivot?
I notice in photos the blade pivot screw is torx. I know that Spyderco prefers the ELU send in a Spydie linerlock if the pivot needs adjustment. But is the same true for a compression lock knife? I don't think I've heard that the compression locks have eccentric pivot screws. That said, if it become...

At the moment I have only one knife in S30V and that is a regular large Sebenza, but so far I am impressed. I haven't yet had enough time to use it as much as some other steels but so far I like it a lot. I discovered the last inch or so near the blade tip needed reprofiling to remove steep shoulder...

IMO, Endura is one of the best working knives ever. I esp. like the SE version in VG-10. I was initially skeptical of the flat saber grind, but have come to like it on this knife and the new Delica. IMO the Endura and Delica are good-looking knives. I suppose in this golden age of knives, with so ma...

Jeff:
Congrats! I haven't had to resharpen my Military PE yet, and honestly, a lot of the reason is I've been worried about resharpening and if I can get it sharp again after so many horror stories of 440V. Sounds like it's definitely the knife model, grind, in addition to other factors as well.

Jeff: I'm certain you will like the Delica II, I have two of 'em, one is plain and one is fully-serrated. The Delica II has a nostalgic feel to it because its shape is the same shape as the original Delica, only of course, in SS. Sometimes when I want to get another version of a model I think to mys...

Yet another Delica
I recently got my fifth(?) Delica, this one has the fully-serrated VG-10 blade. This is my third knife in VG-10 (the others are a SS Police and an Endura), and it continues to be one of my all-time favorite steels. I have found over the years I prefer the Delica in all-serrated, and I like the subtl...

Thanks for the replies, everyone. J.Smith: I'm not yet sure of the true differences between S30V and 440V (S60V?). The only knife I currently own in 440V is the Millie, and the only one I have in S30V is the Sebenza. Both are excellent but I've not honestly used them hard enough yet to detect much d...

Military in S30V?
I haven't been on any forums in awhile but I heard that the Military would be switching its blade steel from S60V (440V) to S30V. If so, has the switch happened yet?
Thanx for any response.

VG-10 Delica 50/50 most common?
I've been waiting to find a VG-10 Delica SE but all the shops that carry the new VG-10 versions seem to always be the combo edge. Which is not bad, but I prefer the Delica in all SE or all PE (but looking for the SE). For the new steel changeover, did Spyderco make more 50/50 versions than all the r...

I'm not actually a student, but I work as a captioner for deaf students in universities and community colleges, so I will be back on a couple campuses again. I usually carry whatever I always carry anyway. The only knife I bring out is either my Victorinox Classic or Leatherman Micra, and that's onl...

It appears many of the knives manufactured for Al Mar in Japan are made by the same Seki-City makers who product Spyderco's Seki clipits. Therefore I would say overall the quality is very comparable. I do not own an Al Mar yet, but have had an on/off interest in the SERE 2000 and maybe a Hawk folder...
