Curious why the ball bearing lock isn't on more knives then the Manix? I'm guessing people don't like it since the Manix also has a back lock version. I really like the ball bearing lock on my Manix.

I've got a Slysz Bowie on the way. I wanted to get a Spydie chef first, but with the Bowie being discontinued and selling out at an alarming rate, I got one while I could.

Unfortunately, ever since purchasing the sharpmaker, I have encountered the exact same problem. It must be something I am doing wrong. After using the Medium rods my edge slices paper and shaves arm hair fairly easy. Then after using the white stones (fine) I can no longer achieve the same results....

We can consider it, but usually people buying diving or "boat" knives want them to be very inexpensive on the theory that they might lose it. Quality performance knives cost more to build and are generally more expensive to purchase. We've not done well with them enough to maintain invent...

I love my Spydercos and carry one with me pretty much anywhere I can carry a knife. I do a lot of kayak fishing and I would really like to replace the Gerber I have on my PFD (personal flotation device), but it doesn't look like Spyderco makes a dedicated river knife as they're commonly referred to....

If you are using Goo be gone to remove adhesives and stuff, try De Solv It. I've been using it for 15 years, works amazing and is natural, safe biodegradable. Ever have a kid let a crayon go through the dryer? I used this stuff to get it out by spot treating and rewashing. Works on knife blades too ...
