Welcome!
The Smock is definitely a great knife to start off with :D
One of my favorite fidget knives to have been released lately.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one wondering about the somewhat unclear confirmation. I sent out a message when I uploaded my file, so I'll be sure to post the feedback I might receive on it ;) All should be in order when you got the " You have successfully uploaded 1 asset into Spyderco Ma...

I saw your post in the thread, and I agree the Native shot was the better one.

Backups for models which are hard to come by.

Re: Has any knife made you stop buying knives?
Some knives have made me slow down or stop buying new knives momentarily, but not a whole lot of them. Notable ones were the Slysz Bowie, Sage 4, and the Smock (actually carrying a Sage 4 as I type this). These were some knives that flipped the "I need more" switch for a while, and got car...

Re: In Loving Memory - Jurphaas van Rietschoten
This hits hard even though we only spoke at the Amsterdam Meets and through some emails here and there... It'll be different without his seemingly never-ending positivity and talking over lunch during the breaks. I'm certain he'll be missed by a lot of us, but most definitely not forgotten. My since...

Recent rise in clones offered, so watch out!
I figured I'd make a PSA for those shopping on eBay, Amazon, etc. As some of you might've noticed, there's a rise in the amount of clones being offered as genuine on sites like eBay. It has been somewhat dormant for a while, but I see more and more new sellers popping up recently. Amongst the clones...

Re: Newbie pic request
Could you tell us where you did the coating, if it's not a problem? Looking where to get a DLC or cerakote finish for a deep carry clip for my black blade Native, as the original from MXG has PVD coating, which starts wearing off pretty soon, and LynchNW does not even have clips for Native lightwei...

Re: Newbie pic request
If you're not a fan of the patina or maintenance that comes with preventing it, you could always get it coated. This is my GB with a cerakote (other coatings like DLC or TiCN are also an option). WHERE? This is the first time I hear for a possibility of this on a small scale. There are some local b...

Re: Ikuchi CQI question
BFK is correct, of course. The Ikuchi has an internal stop pin, so filing the blade or changing the stop pin would be of no help in lowering the blade. The detention issue is something I missed completely and would be the deal killer in any event. Thanks for the screenshot; that clears things up. I...

Re: Ikuchi CQI question
Yeah, grinding the spine down is probably your best bet. Any attempt to get the blade to seat deeper will mess with the detent. Probably not the right answer but it worked for me and my pre-cqi ikuchi: I brought the tip down on mine so it didn't stick out anymore when closed. Used a sharpmaker ston...

Re: Ikuchi CQI question
What you are proposing would likely misalign where the ball of the compression lock bar lands in the hole on the blade. My pre CQI Ikuchi has the tip close, but hasn't been a problem. I suspect some are worse than others. Yeah, I definitely don't want to mess with the lockup or action of the knife,...

Ikuchi CQI question
As some of you might know, the pre-CQI Ikuchi's have the tip very close to the edge of it's handles. Mine has the same issue and the needle tip makes that a bit precarious... No blood yet, but it was too close for comfort. Sending the knife to the US is a really long and expensive ordeal, and I have...
