What exactly does MBC stand for?

Also, where do the Manix 2 and Gayle Bradley fit in? I ask because they seem to be mentioned the most as Spyderco's heavy duty knives.

It actually took me a while to appreciate my Delica. It does seem cheap at first, but after use you see how well designed it is. My Gayle Bradley, on the other hand, was a favorite in no time.

1. Make sure you keep it dry. 2. Use a lubricant that doesn't attract gunk. 3. If you take it apart, don't put it back together the intuitive way. You have to put it together without the lockbar first, then squeeze the lockbar into place and push the pin in. And getting a sharpmaker is an excellent ...

If you can go a bit bigger with the blade, the Centofante 3 is nice.

It sounds kind of like a Kershaw Leek or Al Mar Hawk would fit your criteria better, though.

I'm going to go with the Gayle Bradley. It's very gentlemanly, but also tough when it has to be. The edge geometry makes it a champion slicer, but the steel makes it strong at the same time. It's one of those knives that you'd pick if you could only have one knife.

The Delica FFG is light, versatile, and sharp. But if you're only going to be opening boxes and bags, I'd recommend a serrated Tasman Salt or Spyderhawk. The hawkbill blade is especially suited to this task, and the serrations will make the edge last a long time before you have to sharpen. Oh, and i...

Yes, yes, and yes. The Sharpmaker is the best sharpener you can get anywhere near that price, for any knife. I use it for all my knives to get them shaving sharp. But for Spyderco's, it's even better, since the factory edge matches the 30 inclusive preset. It's much easier to use than freehand, and ...

They don't make integral clips like that anymore. Look in the Spydiewiki and see if you can find your model.

Mine has the same marks; I bought it new when it had no marks. The pivot isn't overly tight, and I've taken it apart so I know the washers are there. I suspect it has something to do with how paper thin the washers are; I don't have this problem with knives that have washers thick enough that they w...

The main thing is making sure that the knife stays straight. Also, make sure you aren't sharpening one side more than the other, because you'll form a burr, and thus a wire edge.

I didn't have this on my Delica 4, but it's on my Assist. I wouldn't worry about it. It doesn't affect the operation of the knife, and I kind of like having the extra metal there. My friend "knifesturbated" so much with his Byrd that the lockback sunk noticeably into the frame, so I know t...

Is there a possibility that Spyderco could make a knife similar in design to Cold Steel's Ti-Lite? I ask since the stiletto is a classic. Spyderco doesn't really make anything because it's classic. They innovate on their own, which is why their knives look so weird and have gained such a loyal foll...

A flipper with a Spyderhole wouldn't be too strange, since flippers are usually paired with thumbstuds. I like flippers, but I've found with time that I've stopped using them on all my knives that have a thumb deployment option as well. Just seems to work better for me.
