Re: Autonomy

Thanks all. I wonder if I can sign up again, just long enough to get the orange issue version? I'm just really happy that Spyderco took the time to develop a great piece of gear for the Swimmer program. To think, when I started we had a fixed blade, you couldn't reach, and a J-Hook! I was thinking ...

The Autonomy and its predecessor

First I will start with the disclaimer that i'm not very good at writing reviews. :o The Autonomy has held my interest since I heard of its development and i have been eagerly awaiting its debut. This knife was designed for the United States Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Swimmer program and I had th...

Re: 2015 Forum Knife Announcement

I got so busy at work today that all my plans to sneak away and order one didn't happen. I was pleasantly surprised to see them still available when I got home tonight! It took a whole bunch of attempts but I got through and got my order in. I can't wait to get it! Thanks Spyderco!

Re: Autonomy

The big circle is the opening button? Yes, it's designed (i'm guessing) for ease of opening with neoprene gloves. That was one of the issues we had with our old auto, the actuator was small and somewhat flush making it hard to open. Mine takes a fair amount of force to depress and therefore deploy ...

Re: SE story

It's satisfying to be able to show someone what a proper tool can do. Many people think a knife is a knife, but when someone can see and feel the difference it's a cool moment. I just went on vacation with two guys that I grew up with, I gifted them both a SE Dragonfly Salt and they were blown away ...

Thank you for the prompt response... Have you done business with that dealer/company before?
I can't answer for gbelleh but I have ordered from them on numerous occassions and have always been satisfied.

Good luck,

Re: Autonomy

Got my Autonomy today. It fires open like a rocket! Made me all nostalgic, so I figured I'd break out some of my old gear to welcome it home. http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab76/dbertrand930/Spydies/20150711_172448_zpsphe4r9bn.jpg http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab76/dbertrand930/Spydies/2015...

Re: My First Gun Recommendations

I just bought 500 rounds for $30... Is that a decent deal? Matt That's a palatable price now. Unfortunately here, that's rare as hen's teeth! I miss the 500/550 box for $13 that was available just a few years ago. Enjoy shooting, it's really a great rifle. I have had mine for 25 years and it hasn't...

Re: Bad pics of great knives.

I'm loving those beach pictures OldSarSwmr! Dragonfly looks right at home! Thanks brother, it performed perfectly and super easy to carry IWB of my trunks. I went with a couple of guys that I grew up with and our families. I gifted both of my friends a serrated D'fly salt to commemorate the trip. :...

Congrats Mushroom and thanks Mac. I was down in the Outer Banks between Rodanthe and Avon, the sharks definitely had better luck fishing than I did. ;)
