Re: Will we ever see more compression locks with a self close mechanism?

Interesting. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I didn't know that model had these features.
Do you think spyderco has moved in to the power lock? That seems to have popped up on a few of the larger knives to come out recently.
Maybe it easier to make?

Re: Dammit! Native 5 LW or Chaparall CF

It depends on what your use will be.
I find the blade on my chap a little too thin for my tastes, but glad I have it if I'm going out for a nice dinner or something where a dressier knife is more appropriate. If it's going to see office duty, get the chap. If it's going to see hard use, the native.

Re: Captain Sprint Run

Everyone has different tastes I suppose. There have been a few models over the years that I simply did not get. Can't force everyone to like the Captain. I've never liked the Pm2... People think that it is crazy that I don't own one. But to each his own. Zdog, I have only seen photos of the captain...

Re: Hanan & Sliver Compression Lock Flippers

3. Lateral line of handle screws. The current array doesn't quite follow the flow of the handle curvature on the G-10 scales. An interesting comment. When I first saw this knife I thought it might be a De Leeuw design like the myrtle, which I like very much. One complaint is that the myrtle has too...

Re: Captain Sprint Run

I probably would not. This was one of those designs that left me asking, "Why?" To me it looks like something from a Chinese made brand knife catalog, you know, one of those fantasy knives. But that is just me. I'm with Dan on this one. Unless someone can explain it so it makes more sense...

Don't know if this is a crazy deal, but noticed that new graham has the Vrango for $180. That a bit less than anywhere else I have seen.

Re: Delica Wharncliffe Has Dropped (pics)

Happy birthday Jazz! You must be such a proud papa. It looks great. I was thinking that the q-ball on order would preclude me from getting one of these, but the q-ball doesn't come in spyder edge, now does it! We can always use a little more spyder edge in our lives... Thanks to Patrick for once aga...

Re: CA Legal versions of Restricted Models

I live in ca. Just for the record, I just have never warmed to autos or assisted opening knives. I'm not comfortable with it in my pocket without the lock on, and then depoyment is just faster with a thumb hole. I think the thumb hole is faster than a flipper for me too. Your experience may vary. It...

Re: PARA 2 and MILITARY models prohibited in Canada

This is a philosophical point, but I wonder why the lawmakers are so concerned with passing a law which determines illegality based on how easy it is to open a knife. Surely, the ability to open a knife quickly and with the least amount of effort would be more desirable, especially in an emergency ...

Come on Paul. Throw us a bone. It looks great. Was this an evolution of the ouroboros?
Did the design start just after? Was it by request or a crazy idea after a beer or three?

Won't heating this steel to 375 degrees change the heat treatment of the blade?

Re: What are the chances of an M4 Native 5?

I guess if there is demand, then they would make it. We have seen cruwear, maxamet, and at least one lc200n. I think a plain edge lc200n has got to be on the way.
The m4 pm2's sold so fast. There has got to be some demand for a native. I would get one.

Re: Most overlooked spyderco?

Of the current offerings, the myrtle. We never hear about it. The marbled carbon is the best carbon to me. Love the bolster. The blade is thick and more useful than you would expect. The only knock is the deployment is not perfect. Hole is too close to the pivot for such a big blade and my detent is...

What's this 4 blade options on the Caribbean I keep seeing? Are they doing clip point and wharnie in both edge types? Yep, in one of the SHOT show videos Eric goes over the PE and SE Leaf shaped Caribbean's and mentions the wharnie will also be available in both PE and SE. EDIT: This is in the begi...
