How about Ceramic parts where possible, but esp. a ceramic blade, and a second set of G-10 scales to isolate and cover the unavoidably metallic parts. I don't think recessing alone would/could be deep enough to prevent arcing. Metalic clips would be right out of course, thus eliminating the problem ...

I was wondering what Spydie might have a similar grip to the Civilian, but that picture awnsers my question.

Also shouldn't it be: ".... a big knife?"

Nah, Patogordo, am not interested in collector's pieces at this time; I like to be able to use my tools. Besides, I am trying to modify my tip up reflexes into tip down reflexes. Transposed tip up/down; most(all?)of the biggest Spydies are tip down, and I will be purchasing more of these as sisters ...

Although I have never handled it, the S/S Police has always struck me as extremely handle heavy.
BTW I own a G-10 Police and am planning to get the one of the last versions of it, which have the Boye indent.

Thanks Mr. Janich
I will have to see if I can get a copy of that mag.
I sort of figured that one never throws your only weapon(actually read this in a SF book).
It seems most of my preconcived ideas were accurate.

Quotes from Sal: 25 September 2000: We have some Boye Dendritic Cobalt planned for a Military test. These are already cast into the Military shape. 15 April 2001: Talonite is very expensive and Camillus has an exclusive on the material for production knives. Stellite is similar, but likewise very ex...

Cricket Handles?

What are the all the different handle variations on the cricket? Specifically was there ever a G-10 run? Many of you forumites have been SpyderNuts longer than I have. I am thinking about getting a pair of crickets, one SpyderEdge and one PlainEdge; Carbon fiber is right out because of price, and it...

The G-10 Blade uses flat grinds from serrations to spine, and as a result has a full length distal taper, as oposed to the short distal taper at the tip, formed by the hollow and swedge grinds. The G-10 Blade is stronger, and better at slicing as a result of these differences. Knife Knut on a shoest...

In _theory_ the Chinook would be the better _Slicer_ as it has much more belly than the military. Also, as far as hard use is concerned, the Chinook meets Spyderco's Martial Blade Craft lock strenght standards, which are much higher than most of their other blades. The only advantage the Military ov...
