Re: So Is Maxamet Dead Now?

You can all thank me for the return of Maxamet in PM2 and Para 3. I bought 2x PM2 this year at flipper prices and literally bought a Para 3 Maxamet 1hr before the 2019 catalog release lol :D :D :D So sorry, a week before you, I almost made did the same, but was interrupted before finishing the deal.

lets face it.... a PM2 could have a plastic blade and miss matched scales and it would still sell out
I have to admit, I would be one of the first in line.

Would love seeing this as a Salt, looks like a great "foodie Knife" that would also be a great EDC, having the LC200N blade would be a huge convenience.

Re: Do you modify the edge angles on your knives?

A big reason for my love of PM2's and 3's is the factory edge, they are easy to maintain and cut better than other knives, not much stropping and they are hair whittling. I'm always a bit disappointed when receiving a knife that I have to regrind, it's as though they were designed for somebody else ...

Re: Buying my second Spyderco.

If you are right handed you will probably love the compression lock that the pm2, para 3 and shaman comes with. If you want something with more of a stout tip and slightly more ambidextrous, you could get a native 5 sv110. Manix 2 is very nice, but carries slightly wider in the pocket and you may o...

Re: New 20CV Para 2!!!

Received mine today, from a decent secondary eBay seller, I am very impressed with everything about this knife. These Golden Colorado PM 2's and 3's are amazing, to a point now where my other knifes are not so engaging, maybe time to sell?

I will give BBS credit for being very upfront with their policies, and for having great sprint runs, one of my fav knives is my blue Para 3 m390, but,....wondering why they are still available?

Whether Bento Box did or did not do this or that, they are responsible for the tone of this thread, and the many other rant threads, just visit their site and see how you feel. Unless they posted in this thread they can not be responsible. This thread was begun by a guy who started by essentially c...

Guides will never teach the edge of your thumbnails to feel the burr, nor the smoothness of the correct angle on the strop.

Re: Finally, Bob Lum’s Chinese Folder

Aesthetically speaking this is one of my favs. The very shape is eloquent, but the skeletonizing of liners is masterful, balancing the Spydie Hole, making use of the jade translucent handles, Superb!

Re: Caribbean: Hottest Spyderco Available!

Received the serrated leaf version today, after getting the pivot screws adjusted and a bit of oil, it's starting to feel like my many PM2's. There has been a lot of thought and care in designing this knife, the handle is quite a feat with the alternating colored layers of G-10 with matching surface...

Re: CF para3 S90V

I have the CF Para 3 S90V, and also the PM2 CF 52100, yes the steel is quite different but the cutting edge feels almost the same, super sharp grippy edge! I force patinated the 52100, seems to hold back rusting, also the patina is quite beautiful against the CF. I only bring up the 52100 because it...

Re: What’s your favorite or most used Spyderco?

PM2s then Para 3's. I still enjoy most of the other Spyderco's, but have developed a reverence for the PM2. Something about the blade edge, shape, grind, and the handle standoffs, compression lock, Spydie hole-quick deploy, in all it's pure simplicity, which also serves as it's aesthetics.

Re: Cost Cutting on Sprderco's Higher End Models, Why?

Hypothetical question: say you were given; a flat scaled knife with (wood, CF, Ti, FRN, stainless, micarta or whatever) would you cover it with laminate CF? (assuming it's fit and finish would be as good as Spyderco's CF laminate finish)

Re: Cost Cutting on Sprderco's Higher End Models, Why?

You guys are funny. For flat slabs, we use laminated G-10/carbon fiber. For 3D carbon fiber handles, we use solid carbon fiber. I've never heard anyone complain about our tranparency before? If you ask the question, unless it' proprietary, I usually answer. Seems like if we're not "in trouble&...
