Why not? Assuming locks are legal where you live, has anyone given you a good reason not to have them?

Other than being in violation of foolish laws, what's the downside to having a lock?

I can deal with polished G-10.

I don't think it'd be possible/practical to use the textured CF from Taiwan on a Japanese :spyder: . Too bad, that would be sweet :(

C34 Jess Horn Sprint?

I'd love to see one with G-10 scales (navy blue is my choice) and an FFG blade. VG-10 is fine with me. A reversible tip-up clip would also be great.

Anyone else?

Who would like to see more 2mm thick blades?

One of the things I really like about my Chaparral is the thin blade. I'd love to see a :spyder: with a 2mm FFG blade around 3 1/2".

Anyone else?

Does the Chaparral have washers?

Looking at it, it seems to be washerless; similar to the Calys, Persians, and other Moki backlocks.

For the scenario you described, I'd pick the soon to be released LionSpy. Of the the knives I have right now, it'd be my original C95 Manix. Vallotton would be my second choice.

Generally, the knives made by Moki (Calys, Persians, Ayoob et al) will have nice thin edges. You can tell them by the "Japan" stamp on the tang (as opposed to "Seki City Japan" for other Japanese makers).

As a lefty, this the easiest way I've found to close a right-handed liner lock with my left hand: Rotate the knife so the edge is facing up. Work the lock with your thumb. Press the spine against your leg (or another convenient surface) to partially close the blade. finish closing with your thumb in...

Sal said they planned to use XHP for the first Chaparral, but couldn't get it in time, so they had to go with S30V.

Sal said the second Chaparral will have a CTS-XHP blade (along with some sort of textured Ti scales), so it looks like it wil be another platform for different steels.

I know you like steels that take an aggressive edge. Does Elmax take a more aggressive edge than CTX-XHP?

the other day i decided to touch up my S30V para2 and my CTS-BD30P manix2. personally, i like the way the BD30P sharpens up, it more easily accepts a keen edge IMO. the BD30P manix2 is pretty new so i'll see if that holds true after some more heavier cutting and sharpening. there might be other ben...
