I know it’s slightly off topic, but my military has helped me cook many meals at hunting camp and I find it works reasonably well for that task.

Thanks Sal!sal wrote:Hi Canazes,
I think it's a question of demand. Steel Junky's like to play with the carbon steels, but the general market is less inclined. I imagine if we determine that the demand is there, we would consider it.

Re: Sal, now that I have a Shaman- I have to ask
I believe that Blade HQ has decided that Jade is their "Signature G10" for all of their special spyderco runs.

Re: BHQ with a hap40 Lum Tanto exclusive?
A very appealing knife for the G10 & Hap40. Liner locks are not my favorite, but I have been very satisfied with Spyderco's execution on my Military. My only real hang up is the tanto blade - seems like it would be awkward to use and an aggravation to sharpen.

Re: LC200N Pacific Salt
Endura handle is a no-go for me. I was hoping the new Pacific Salt would mean an update to the flawed Endura handle, not the other way 'round. I'll be waiting for the LC200N Salt 2 - I honestly feel that with the weight savings from the Delica liner delete coupled with the FFG blade it has the pote...

Re: Laminated carbon steels - Sal?
The Caly 3.5 has a 420j2 / ZDP 189 laminate, but I was more specifically asking about the Hap40, Super Blue laminates. I'm relatively new to Spyderco, that was before my time, not sure if there were others. I am looking forward to trying the new V-Toku laminate un an Endura4 when it becomes availabl...

Laminated carbon steels - Sal?
Sal, Just curious, why hasn't one of the laminated carbon steels been put into regular production, like ZDP189 (vs the standard VG10 models)? These models seem to be extremely popular and whenever a new limited production run is announced, they seem to go quickly. Inability to consistently supply th...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
I hate to say it, but I always knew assisted openers and flippers were bad news for all of us. Not to mention people who flick and show off in front of non knife people. Some are going to be mad at me for that, but it's true. We need discretion in this day and age. If not, here's the crap we get, b...

Re: LC200N Pacific Salt
We'll use the current E4 pattern wit no liners like the Salt 2 (ribbed inner structure) Sorry for the few that don't like the shape, but the large majority likes the E4 shape. Blade will be same as H1 version in pattern, but full flat ground. We'll use the stronger tip. Those that don't like it can...

Re: LC200N Pacific Salt
I would like to make the first run in the current Pacific handle, both black and yellow. Thought about using an off yellow and maybe an off black to distinguish the steel from H1. We plan on making a new Pacific 2 handle like the Salt 2. We'll use the current E4 pattern wit no liners like the Salt ...

Re: prices jumping again?
I will never buy a new Spyderco again. Except maybe a Caribbean. And a LC200N Pacific Salt. And a LC200N PM2 if they make it. And a Lc200n Military if they make that. And maybe a S110V Para3 for myself (I’ve gifted 3). Maybe an interesting sprint run or a new model (a S110V Sliverax would ve interes...

Re: Para3
It's odd - I felt the Para3 was essentially a PM2 for people that couldn't legally carry the PM2 due to blade length restrictions. Because I had no such restrictions, I essentially dismissed the Para3 without ever picking one up. It's funny how quickly my perception of this knife changed once I had ...

Para3
Haven't seen a lot of buzz about the Para3 lately, thought I would weigh in with my recent experience. My knife tastes are pretty vanilla compared to a lot of guys on this board. I tend to like medium large folders, and stainless steel in my pocket knives. My primary carry pocket knife these days is...

Re: Benchmade 940
Agreed on the PM2 and Manix2. If all you care about is a fast action and a light knife, check out an Ontario Dozier Arrow - I much prefer over a 940. For a hard use knife a PM2/Manix2 is hard to beat.

A S110V Police 4 in Midnight Blue FRN would be awesome.
G10 makes a good work knife, but FRN is better for EDC.
