Re: Has the love affair with ZDP-189 ended?

What do you guy's think about ZDP-189 and holding it's razor edge? Better than most of the high vanadium steels? I have found that ZDP holds that razor edge longer than most other production steels including S110V. It doesn't maintain a working edge as long in my uses though This! I'll add that whi...

Re: Spyderco Knives at 2018 SHOT Show with Eric Glesser

But at what cost? My Nirvana has lockstick for about a day and then I worked it out. After that it never came back. What cost? What do you mean- aesthetically? Yeah, aesthetically. I understand why Spyderco chose to do this, I just don’t like it. Seems I’m in the minority though, so I guess they ma...

I'm liking what I'm seeing with the Paysan! There's a good chance that a Paysan could find a home in my pocket this year.

Re: Shot Show surprises

I really like the Smock design. I'm not sure I'll be buying, I usually prefer larger knives - would love to see this same slim design in a 3.8" size. I wish they would have used a standard Spyderco clip so the deep carry option would be available to those of us that prefer it. Lanyard hole? Why...

..Here’s the pommel shot as requested:.. Thank you for the picture. Your knife indeed appears to be a first-run M4 bayonet. Judging by the configuration, the numbers and the starburst pattern that is almost worn away, it looks like the knife itself was most likely manufactured by the Imperial Knife...

Re: Restoration Project - Help Please!

I’m kind of leaning towards just cleaning it up, straightening the tip, sharpening and calling it done. Trying to proceed slowly till I figure out exactly what I’m going to do. Here’s the pommel shot as requested: https://i.imgur.com/FcHudGm.png Clean up is proceeding slowly: https://i.imgur.com/oJe...

Re: Restoration Project - Help Please!

I greatly appreciate everyone's input! I have managed to successfully remove most of the paint from the metal work, the leather is proving more difficult... I've also removed a bit of the discoloration from the blade. About 50% of the blade was heavily coated in wax. Removed the wax then began worki...

Restoration Project - Help Please!

First off, this is non Spyderco related, my apologies if this is not appropriate for this board, mods feel free to delete... Large hands here, Para3 would be my pick. Prefer and carry PM2/Endura most of the time.

Re: Spyderco Caribbean Salt Questions

My mule team 25 had no problem processing an average sized whitetail without touch ups. My experience w/ LC200N is better edge retention than VG10, easier to sharpen than VG10 and improved toughness over VG10. I've been waiting on the LC200N models to roll out ever since I first started working with...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

Seeing so many people refusing to buy Spyderco‘s under the new MAP pricing has me excited - I’ll be able to buy some of the models that disappeared too quickly previously! I hope Sypderco bumps MAP another 5%! David Give it two years, if it becomes a trend (2016, 2018) Or you don't have to wait, ju...

Meh.

I’ll still buy some V-Toku2 sprints and the LC200N Endura4 Pacific Salts when they are releases. The Caribbean has been on my radar too.

Very nice knife. I’m not a big fan of most liner locks, but I can find nothing to complain about with this knife.

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

I’m going to buy every Spyderco knife I want this year. MAP will have literally zero effect on my buying habits. I stopped buying Benchmade and have never bought a ZT - MAP had zero to do with those decisions. I hope other people will feel like I do, continuing to buy Spyderco’s resulting in an ever...
