Hi bubbanm - it might be helpful if you can describe some of your preferences (steel, weight, handle material, price range, etc) and/or a few typical use case scenarios, otherwise all the 4 inchers in Spyderco's line up are good.

I wonder if the BBS re-release will include the crooked branding on the ricasso?

Agreed. If it's going to be a keeper, you can very easily DIY with factory looking results.

All of my high end kitchen knives have smooth handles. I use them everyday, often with greasy, wet hands and never felt the need for texturing of any sort. No smaller than about 3.25 works for me. My longest carried small Spyderco is the Caly 3.5. Lately it's been the Ikuchi, but I still favor the Caly.
