Re: PM2 Red G-10 M390 at DLT Trading?!?!
Jason said on bf that this is likely the last run of this knife before the drop, but maybe things will change after seeing all the demand for it. Why must it be M390? Do you think CTS 204P or CPM 20CV would have sold as fast? (Sorry I haven't been paying attention) Where's the I only buy "Made...

Re: Knife suggestion
Hi bubbanm - it might be helpful if you can describe some of your preferences (steel, weight, handle material, price range, etc) and/or a few typical use case scenarios, otherwise all the 4 inchers in Spyderco's line up are good.

Agreed. If it's going to be a keeper, you can very easily DIY with factory looking results.koenigsegg wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 8:39 amI really would like to see a colored handle with the smooth G10. Dream knife would be CS orange with smooth scales, black blade 20CV

Love the blade shape and ergos. Yeah sometimes I find it hard to look at so I put a paper bag over it when I'm using it :D

Re: Updated Dive Probe / Assist Salt hybrid?
If I were still scuba diving, YES. When I was active in the sport, we found big screwdrivers to be far more useful than dive knives. Screwdrivers used as probes are cheap and "disposable". We used to buy bunches of the cheapest we could find at hardware stores. I absolutely loved the Spyde...

Re: Calypso sprint run - would you buy one?
Before the Chief, I might have. Now, not likely.
The Calypso would need a few updates to get my attention again, most notably it would have to get rid of the pinned construction.

Re: Poll: Smooth G10 vs Peel Ply G10?
All of my high end kitchen knives have smooth handles. I use them everyday, often with greasy, wet hands and never felt the need for texturing of any sort. They don't even feature jimping and again I've never felt the need. All of my high end, hard use, sporting fixed blades, including bush crafters...

Re: Marbled CF or Scale Swap?
I have lots of Spydercos with smooth CF scales ever since Spydercos started offering them, as well as a number of other brands. They are very tough but as soc_monki states they can chip if dropped. I like to add, in my experience they usually chip in tiny pieces, which can be easily sanded to blend ...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Finally got my manix 2 and s35vn para 3 in the mail. Can't wait to check them out after work. The para 3 is so smooth the blade falls shut and jumps back out. Yeah. Is it just my PM2 or is the PM3 noticeably smoother? I almost cant flick open my pm2 without some serious wrist action. Just picked up...

Re: Selfish request for another Manix 2 in M390 or 20CV
I'm late to the party as usual and now that I see you all got your's, I want one too. Rediscovering how wonderful the Manix 2 is after EDCing one for the past week. Love it. Putting in my plea to Spyderco to do another run of Manix 2 in M390 or 20CV. Anyone else interested or have you all moved on ...

I like it smooove.
Much prefer CF but smooove G10 isn't a deal breaker.
Peel-Ply G10 isn't a deal breaker either because I know I can make it smooove.

Re: Largest Spyderco you're comfortable with?
Part of the definition of "comfortable" to me means legally compliant and socially acceptable. Hence 3.5" is the largest I EDC under these terms. PM2 is one of my favorites. The other part of the definition of "comfortable" is just physical and logistical. Under this definit...

No smaller than about 3.25 works for me. My longest carried small Spyderco is the Caly 3.5. Lately it's been the Ikuchi, but I still favor the Caly.
