Spyderco in the snow

We didn't get any snow this year, so here's a few shots from years past. The backlock works great with gloves btw. https://spydercollector.files.wordpress.com/2023/02/spyderco_manix_snow_spydercollector.jpg https://spydercollector.files.wordpress.com/2023/02/spyderco_stretch_snow_spydercollector_2.j...

Re: How Old Were You When You Began Carrying?

I must have been 11 or 12, when my friends showed me this army surplus store where I bought my first EDC, a cheap brass handled Balisong. While my friends moved on to other hobbies, I kept coming back to this army-surplus store to 'graduate' into buying better knives.

I'm not sure if it counts as a 'Spyderco' per se, but this is what I carried and used to dispatch some packaging.

Re: The Edge Is A Ghost?

Sal shared the full quote on these forums: I've said this before. "The edge is a ghost". It's been around for 40,000 years and still we study it. It's technically a wedge, the "W" must be silent. Bringing two bevels together is the beginning. Then we study materials that can supp...

Re: C125 Khukuri

Question: Is there a correlation between "obscure/cool past models" and "past models that didn't sell very well"? I think that you're right on that one. Also, most people buy 'by the eye' instead of holding a 'strange looking' knife in the hand, to see what the design is really ...

C71 Salsa

I think the C71 Salsa is pretty obscure to many newer spyderfans. It was Spyderco's first foray into Taiwan production back in the day. I think they're very cool though, kind of like smaller friendlier lil' temps. https://spydercollector.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/spyderco_salsa_titanium.jpg https:...

C125 Khukuri

The folding Khukuri by Ed Schempp appears to be becoming 'obscure'. It's definitely cool and practical.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Awesome pick but no surprise here. My fav Para3. How do you like yours ? I like it a lot, VG10 is one of my favorite steels and the SPY27 behaves much like it so far. Also the lightweight Para 3 design is so easy to carry. If you're into knives with a bit of 'heft' to it, then you might find it too...
