I have an SS Native and it doesn't do that. It might be common with the the FRN Native. Best to ask Spyderco.

The Calypso Jr. is an awesome knife and has a great following here among the forumites. I own a Micarta and lwt version.
You'll absolutely love this knife! Do a search on this forum and read some of the excellent threads on this wonderful knife.
