Speaking for myself, if I have caused an opponent to stop his attack by disabling his ability to move and to wield his weapon, I would, at the very least keep my distance or run away to report the attack. I think that this course of action limits your exposure to a lucky shot from the assailant and ...

[/B] This is not true, Mr. Janich can use his disabling slashes just as easy and as well in Pikal as he can do it with a forward grip..so can anyone else trained in the Pikal grip techniques....Doc :D That's quite true for Mr. Janich Doc, but I was talking about me. For myself slashing with a rever...

I am far from being an expert but I will try to give some info that might answer some of your questions. The reverse grip holds the knife at an angle where your wrist is more aligned with your forearm which is supposed to mean a firmer strike resulting in deeper cuts. Speaking for myself I prefer to...

way better than drugs, believe me! drugs wear off much faster than a spydie high. for the same amount you get to enjoy years of happiness with your spydies. In my opinion no contest. :D

I'm curious about the different grips while holding a Military. It seems some like to use the thumb ramp for a more controlled and strong motion. However, I was thinking it might be better to hold the handle further back to take advantage of the oversized handle and so that you are not gripping the...

I actually sleep badly while my knife orders are shipping. What makes it worse is that it takes 1-2 months for orders here in the Philippines. But I know that the waiting will be worth it when I hold the knives in my hand. :p :D

I like my military so much that I will find a way to work around the inadvertent release problem. Thanks to Mr. Janich for making me aware that this is a possible occurrence. Now that I know about this I have experimented with different grips that minimize the chance of this happening. I was always ...

I did try my military out. I gripped it with my usual right hand grip with my thumb on the jimping behind the hole and my index finger wrapped around the cutout. I then gripped the part of the handle protruding from my hand after the pinky with my left hand and twisted the whole thing in a clockwise...

thanks for all the great information Mr. Janich, I carry a military dedicated to SD and I also carry an endura for utility. I'm happy to know both can serve me well in SD.

Interesting discussion - I used to believe the framelock was the safest one since my grip on the handle was keeping the frame in position, but now I wonder if twisting the knife in my hand could make my very grip to disengage the lock...I guess the best lock is no lock at all, i.e. a fixed blade. E...

I don't know what they use to coat the clips but the only way i found to get that stuff off is with sandpaper or a wire wheel. I tried every solvent i could and it wouldn't even fade it. I even let it soak over night in paint thinner and let it soak in paint stripper and nothing. I moved on to a po...
