Compression lock Native 5, yes.
My N5's are great, but I've had surgery on my thumb and pressing the lock bar hurts my thumb.
A compression lock Native 5 would be greatly appreciated.

I like smaller knives, not on that platform.
Smaller knives, in my opinion, should be slim.

Very nice, but the K390 and Micarta scales, for me would be best on a sage 5.

SwayBack
The Swayback has been out a while now, so how is it long term? Is it proving to be a keeper?
I thought about getting one but the 3 1/2 blade is a bit over my likes. I'm returning now because this knife looks so good.

Re: Clip Finish
I like a flat gray clip. Every clip I have is that finish. It's dull and does not attract attention.
If I like the clip that comes with the knife, I blast it to that finish. If I don't like the clip that comes with the knife, I get an MXG clip.

Re: Is the Sage model too good?
I love lots of Spyderco models with Para 3 LW and Sage right at the top(3" area). I haven't bought a sage 5 LW, because am waiting on a different steel. Like XHP, 20CV, Crew

Re: Micarta texture
Thank you Michael Janich for the Micarta info.
We need to to be clear of the "fabric" incased in the glue(paper, linen, canvas, Micarta), it makes a difference in the grip.
I prefer canvas Micarta, looks good, feels good.
Top one and 4th one down.

Never saw an "improvement" I didn't like, except this time.
With a Shaman, perhaps.

Re: FRN Take Over...
Now that Spyderco has mastered the "solid" feel in FRN, I like it more than G10.
I like the grip of FRN, but it is light, it makes a knife have good balance. Don't like a butt heavy knife. I had a Caly 3 once that just slipped out of my hand and into my leg.

Re: The Native 5 that was lost...
It's great for me. It is not hard to get screaming sharp and holds that for a decent amount of time. Then, touching it up is easy. EASY is a good description.
