Re: CPM 4V | Edge Performance

I took my 4V XL to 10-12dps 260 grit edge stropped twice per side on 7 micron. Cleanly shaves and is an extremely aggressive slicer. Has held an edge very well, hasn't needed sharpening since I set the edge. Good to know; thanks Vivi! If you had to pick one XL I'm guessing it'd be the 4v? (Or maybe...

Re: CPM 4V | Edge Performance

Bumping a good thread.
Any one have feedback on the 4V Manix XL?
Sharpening choices? Performance? HRC?
I'm about to break out mine. Thought I might do Comparison of XL's: s30v/s90v/M4/4V
Perhaps starting with 15° per side on the wicked edge @600 or 800 grit diamond?
Thoughts?

Re: Stretch 2 XL in grey G10 and CruWear steel!

Well I'll keep putting these here until someone else can help out, or someone tells me to stop :smiling-halo ... I don't guess you could take a picture of it next to an Endura for size comparison purposes? Extra points if it's a G-10 Endura. :winking-tongue When I receive my G10SXL I'll post a pic ...

Re: Have you found "the one?"

I voted "no" however I'm really close to agreeing with you Vivi on the H1 Pac Salt!
(It's in competition with the Stretch XL at the moment.)

Thanks Shawn and Cl1ff! It is anecdotes like these that make this group so rewarding!
Shawn, I love that you put your own money and passion into a gift for science that also benefitted an unwitting study participant!

I just hope it's in a neutral color. Probably be yucky green or yellow though :(
I don't envy Sal & Co trying to satisfy all the knife nuts personal tastes, lol

Re: Knife & Watch

If anyone sees any good deals on super thin, full number dial field watches please let me know. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect watch that doesn't exist. How thin of a case and quartz or mechanical? I'm really trying to find 10mm or less, which I can find but then the cost is out of my range....

Re: Why is the Millie so overlooked ....

I never carry any folder in a front pocket; always in rear pocket. Thus tip down not an issue. Love the Mille just as it is. Have many :) It's an awesome back pocket knife. Before I started carrying a flashlight in my right rear pocket I was carrying a Military next to my wallet and it works great ...

I don't recall where I ordered them but they're allen putman micarta scales. If you browse around you may find some in stock.

I do not like Red scales at all, and I'm not a fan of coated blades either. However, I'll still buy one because it's a 4V Millie.

Re: St. Nicks 4V Military 1

SNK Manix XL inbound but really I'm more excited about the prospect of a 4V Mille!
Mille's and Endura's are my most represented users.
( Although to be honest I'm in the camp not favoring red and black; I prefer uncoated blades)
