BH, Welcome to the forum. Your job sounds very interesting. I have flown about 30 times over the last 10 years. They were all within the U.S. and mostly in Texas and New Mexico. I have always carried one Spyderco on my person on these occasions. They were the fully-serrated SS Delica, plain-edged SS...

Fisherman,

I own the Lum tanto w/titanium scales. It is a wonderful knife. I have not used it much.

I have always leaned towards working knives, but this one is a work of art. It sounds wierd, but I really enjoy holding and admiring it.

That's my opinion.

SKS,

I sure like my Mouse, but it may not be as low-key as the Toad.

My first was a stainless steel, serrated Delica in 1992. Great knife.

Jeff, I had a little trouble getting my plain-edged, 440V Military razor sharp at first. What works for me now is going through the reccomended sharpening steps on the gray stones at 40 deg. and then 6 - 10 strokes on both white edges. These final strokes need to be very light and with a deliberate ...

Jeff,

I agree with knifenerd, that is how the knife is made. If it is sticking out significantly, then it may be from the drop.

I have been thinking about a name too. I know that it is silly...SpyderBal. However, the plural form may be offensive.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my other idea. I do not know much about the manufacturing process of G-10, so these could be unfeasible ideas. Beacause G-10 is layered, could you put a thin metal(?) object near the top layer during manufacturing and create a subltly raised likeness of it on the outside...

That sounds really neat. The new colored G-10 would be a perfect excuse for another Miliary.

Sal,

Are you concerned the new pigments would affect the G-10's integrity? Just curious.

Take care,

You will not be disappointed with the Sharpmaker, at least I couldn't imagine how you would. I am good with my hands and love mathmatics. I pride myself on being able to sharpen a knife. I have used bench stones and the Lansky sharpeners at least 10 years a piece (20+ together) and am very happy wit...
