Re: Spyderco/Phil Wilson Bow River
Yea I wonder if there's still some final sheath testing and design changes going on. The Spyderco guys must have seen us talking about this for so long and are choosing not to divulge more info for a reason. Pre-orders are sold out almost everywhere, so most people must have faith that it'll be good...

That is absolutely disgusting of them to do this and it is an inhumane and vicious violation of your rights and freedoms.
I guess some people would rather have illegal drugs trafficked into their country than have a Spyderco box ripped a little. :D

Re: BD1N - My New Love Affair!
I absolutely, 100% think that edge retention has been over-valued by folks for the average consumer, EDC or kitchen. Yes. Every product category in today's world needs to give the impression of getting better and better all the time to make yesterday's products obsolete. But the Tenacious, in 8cr, ...

Re: BD1N - My New Love Affair!
BD1N is super underrated. If there was a steel that should replace VG10 it would definitely be BD1N at 63 HRC. Well since BD1N is American made, I assume that would add substantially to the price of Japan's VG-10 models, similar to how the Polestar's costs are about 30% higher than the Tenacious li...

Re: Soft Drinks are "Poison" period> diet or regular
Everything is bad in excess. Even too much water can kill you, too much sun can kill you, etc. The key to soda (and everything else) is moderation. Of course health nuts will say even a drop will hurt you, but it's a huge overreaction. The media creates mass-hysteria for all topics... it's how they ...

I would've pre-ordered too, but I'd like to know everything I'm ordering. Could really use some images of the sheath.

Re: Trademark issue?
For that matter, no company should use any opening hole in the blade of a knife other than Spyderco. It is wrong for anyone to do it. Well that would seem pretty ridiculous. Should all thumb studs be the property of one company? Should nobody be able to create a knife with a flipper except for the ...

Re: CROW 2
I don't think it has been overlooked. I think the finger choil on the Crow takes up a lot of the blade and I don't think many people like that. It's not a 50/50. The choil is like 2/3 blade and 1/3 handle on an already small blade. Like it or hate it, it's a very different concept for people.

Re: Spyderco Tenacious (Real or Counterfeit?)
I believe it’s a fake. The spyder isn’t right. I never had a Tenacious, but I'm looking at pics of the Tenacious with a black blade, and you're right about the Spider. They all have that open triangle in the head area. Looks fake to me. Was the design of the spider in the older Tenacious years diff...

Re: Bobbing a handle to 50/50 ratio?
If you want a blade close to 50/50, I would just stick to blades without those finger choils that take up part of the blade.

Re: Pulse on the Tropen?
this "non issue" of cutting oneself was addressed by Eric on the Blade Show video this year It's a non existing problem Yes I saw that. I think it would ease many people's minds to have a neutral party comment on using it, though. We'll have to wait and see. When I'm digging all over in m...

Re: Delica - Why No Forward Finger Choil?
The Delica already has a small unsharpened portion behind the blade. It wouldn't change it much to just add a real jimped choil there. And having it the choil doesn't mean you have to always use it. Heck, even on the tiny Dragonfly, I don't always use the choil. There really isn't enough room for i...

Re: Delica - Why No Forward Finger Choil?
I think in order to make enough room for a proper choil on the Delica, it would push the regular grip slightly further back. I think that would be a bad thing. I vote for keeping it the way it is. I'd rather move the ricasso forward than move it backwards to make room for a choil. But then again, I'...

Re: What would you like to see next from Byrd?
But the Bow River is supposed to be pretty thin. Could it still be recommended as a work horse kind of knife? I want to buy it, but I think I would call it more of a light duty fixed blade, at least from the little we've seen of it.

Re: I want to buy one knife to last me ~10 years
One more idea, you will want a fixed knife for camping. There is a phil wilson bow river for $35 or so, leaving you $65 for a knife - delica. The bow river is made in China though, but it is the best priced fixed blade around If someone wants one fixed blade for camping, can the bow river really be...
