Great pictures for a great knife, Worker. I sense a cult following for this knife in the future. How about a Caly Jr. pic thread? Once I get my digi-cam bugs worked out, I'll post mine.

For the non-bolstered knife, G-10 all the way. Different colors would of course be a must; black, grey, green, blue, purple? Whatever the ELU wants. As for the bolstered version, jigged bone and various colors of micarta would be nice, but what about Evrina? Scrimshanders everywhere would rejoice! T...

Not that I am aware of, and I doubt they will be, grinding the wave into the ZDP-189 would likely break Spyderco's machines. Would also push the price point up significantly on a blade of that size. There's always the sprint run possibility. Good point, and too bad. Waving a chainsaw-like blade suc...

I'm seventeen next week, and like most of you, Scouting has heavily influenced my knife collecting, as well as my proficiancy and safety with the knives I use in the mountains and every day. I can't remember my first knife, but it was probably of the Swiss Army variety. My first :spyder: was a CE FR...

Sweet. Thanks for the tip, that will be an unstoppable knife.

Also, one word: Szabofly.

I love the blade shape for the new Delica and Endura, the tasman Salt blew me away, and the Volpe is simply beautiful. On a side note, I've heard of a ZDP 189 Delica/Endura. Would that be laminated like the Caly, or be a solid blade?

[quote="dialex"]The discussion came to an interesting point. First, I want to thank you all for the comments regarding my design. Second, I wonder: assuming the Adventura would feature Ti handles and full ZDP blade where would we be?  ] That would probably create one of th...

Is H1 a steel though? I belive it technically is, though I'm not sure if replacing the carbon constitutes a completely new metal instead of a new steel. Spyderco calls it a "precipitation-hardened steel" stating that nitrogen takes the place of carbon, which would change it from steel to ...

Back to the question

I can see the toad, and there is a ladybug at the top of the pile with its blade open about 90 degrees, but where is this elusive third :spyder: ? By the way, Vampyrewolf, if you are looking for something to throw, take a look at that brass-handled folding box cutter in the corner. Those things are ...

For me, choosing one knife to be called "the best" of the year is as impossible as choosing "the best" from Spyderco's entire history, probably because :spyder: can be credited with creating such a wide range of products. Example; the ZDP caly jr. is an incredible knife, believe ...

Happy ending

Well, one call to Fred at Knife Outlet and the entire situation was cleaned up. Thanks for the advice (and the luck), and I suggest taking a look at the Knife Outlet next time you are thinking about ordering a knife. (which, knowing you people, is probably a frequent thought.) Thanks again for the h...

They sent the wrong Harpy!!!

About a week ago, I ordered a cf PE harpy from a site called the Knife Outlet. It arrived yesterday, and, containing my joy, I carefully opened the box. Staring up at me was a serrated knife. I've been had. The invoice clearly shows a "P" in the product code, while the knife box itself end...

Thanks for all the advice. One of the best things about a forum like this is the amount of ACTUAL knife information available, as opposed to website statistics or sales pitches. That being said, I have decided to go with the fully serrated ATR, probably in black. I need a fully serrated knife, and w...

Did :spyder: ever make a fully serrated millie with a black blade? I would prefer a black bladed knife with full serrations, that's why I am looking at the ATR.

ATR opinions

I'm considering buying a SE ATR for a fully dedicated hard-use knife. How does it compare to knives like the para-millie or the manix, and which style do you think works the best. Any advice or experience with this knife is welcome, and yes, price is a factor.

Thanks for the help.
