Re: Forum knife 2020 - model poll

I'll admit that I did not vote for the UKPK but I have to wonder what the results of a poll would be if it was UKPK vs. one other locking knife. Let's say UKPK vs. Shaman or my preference the Lil' Native. What would the results be if you had to choose between a locking knife and a non locking knife...

Re: Would you pay up-front for a Forum knife?

There’s not any need for prepayment I wouldn’t think. I would however do it if needed, assuming it’s a model I like. If it’s a non-lock model, then no thanks.

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?

A different Manix 2 would be great...if they can do it in Taichung, a Sage 5 LW would be really cool.

Re: Breaking down boxes with Chaparral

Is there another CQI of the Chap LW headed our way? I saw Sal mention it in a recent thread but can't find it. How recent? And are you sure he was talking 'bout the Chap?! Honestly, what on earth could possibly still be improved here?! The stiffness of the spring. I don’t own one, but ha...

Re: competition for the Para 3?

Just wondering what other Spyderco knives are similar to the Para 3, but maybe a little lighter. I like a blade around 3", and really prefer the compression locks over the others. The Sage 5 LW fits that bill perfectly. It is a better knife than the Para 3 in all ways for me, and better than t...

Re: Most Fidget Friendly Knife

The compression lock knives are great for fidgeting...Sage 5 FRN and PM2 in particular, but I think the best is the Manix 2. Opens like a vault locking, and super sturdy feeling.

Re: Your Spyderco Christmas Eve And Christmas Day EDC

Manix 2 in M390 both days. I don’t considerate my favorite, but is has been getting in the pocket most days lately. Maybe current favorite. It’s really good.

You would prefer a Button Compression Lock on Sage? To an integral?

sal
Definitely. That would be awesome.

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight

Another thing on this knife...the edge is phenomenal. All of my Sprydercos have had good edge, but the sharpness on this one is the best of the bunch. It’s my first Taichung, so maybe that’s the norm with them.

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight

I got mine yesterday, and it is a great knife. I have a Garnet Para 3 LW with M390, and I like this knife more in every way, other than blade steel and color. It just feels much more solid and higher quality to me. The scales are not sharp in the inside like the P3, and the stainless liners and spac...

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight

Very helpful video, thanks. Anybody know a place that has these in stock? GP Knives got them in a couple hours ago and they appear to still be in stock. https://www.gpknives.com/spyderco-sage-5-lightweight-compression-lock-black-frn-s30v-c123pbk.html Thank you! They had a little bit better deal on ...

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight

I just saw the Nick Shabazz disassembly video and evidently the sage 5 lw has a pivot bushing like the qci kapara. Could make a big difference for the action snobs. So, for those less knowledgeable of the details like myself, is the pivot bushing a good thing for the action, or not? It's good. Make...

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight

I looked at prices at BHQ, DLT and NGK, and it looks like these are being sold at 70% of MSRP. Is this particular to this model or is a MAP change on the way? It seems high for a FRN knife with S30V. I will probably still buy one as soon as I can find one, and I guess that’s what they are banking o...

Are you guys serious about this? Is it that dangerous to go shopping where you live? YES IT IS! maybe you been living in a glass house? You never know when and where someone might choose to target you or someone near you. Better to be prepared for it was my point for bringing it up. EDC was the que...

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight

Don't know a lot about US stores (I am European), but found at least one (bladeops) where the Sage LW seemingly is available. At least it does not say there "coming soon" or "out of stock" anymore I had seen that, but it wouldn’t show up in the cart. Now it’s back to showing out...
