Cool idea.
I really like my AWT scales for the durability and they also use washers.

Re: Will Factory Switch Blades/Scales Between Knives? (Same Model)
The intricate interdependence of parts and their specific orientation is much more subtle and nuanced than most people here realize. If you take one blade from a knife, and put it into another, the surfaces of the liners may be uneven, the stop-pins may be off by .0001", and the lock-faces may...

Re: Next spyderco?
I second the Native 5, but would probably go with Magnacut, just because it is a cool steel, both for attributes and current "latest and greatest" status. The lightweight N5s are great models, but the AWT scales I just put on my Magnacut model take it to a whole new level (though for $100 ...

Re: Reveal 14 teaser from September's byte
Choil-less Shaman Lightweight in Magnacut that would be super disappointing for me unless it's accompanied by some other long-awaited models. i'd be happy for shaman fans though. I just put awt scales on my s30v shaman. I am set for now on that front. But, the question wasn't what we want, but what...

Re: Manix 2 Tanto? Wharncliffe?
I like your mod a lot ! MG2 Thanks, I think it was one of the members on here that showed off theirs, can't remember who, but I liked it so much that I did it, and there is no turning back. I didn't like the snub nose as much and the red turned out great, and draws less attention in the pocket at w...

Re: Manix 2 Tanto? Wharncliffe?
I prefer a modified wharncliffe or sheepsfoot, with just a very gentle belly (think Caribbean Sheepsfoot). For some reason, I am put off by a truly straight edge. Though I really like my swayback in theory, I don't carry it as much as I though I would. I carry my modified Caribbean Sheepsfoot signfi...

Re: Took Apart My Endura
Little dab of blue loctite stick on all of them.
As far as maintenance, the Native 5 LW is a joy to take down and reassemble. So easy with the spring captive in the scale/integrated backspacer. So few parts. Makes the endura/delica seem like juggling ... knives in comparison.

Re: Seki City (LC200N) Salt Knives Fit and Finish
I will always call out something that I feel doesn't meet with my expectations. I picked up 3 salts during the recent MAP holiday, a Pac Salt 2, Salt 2 and N5 Salt. All had extraordinarily unsymmetrical bevels. Though, they were SE and thus chisel ground, so I guess that is something... :winking-ton...

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?
Agree with a lot of the comments in here. For me the two big ones (pun intended in one case 😜) are: 1. Frame lock relief on outside, especially right at edge of clip as it catches loose material of pocket. I had to two hand release my paysan the other day as the pocket material bunched up in the not...

50, turning 51 in two weeks. 6'3" 280. Need to run off some weight. Tried to jog (I don't run) like I did when I was younger for the last few weeks and injured my foot. Needed to find seemless underwear to avoid chafing and wearing knee supports. Man getting old sucks, though not as much as th...

Re: Your running knife?
OK, I just had to test it today. I took the Pacific Salt for a run - carrying it IWB in the back (quick test proved that it would be getting a little in the way in the front). And since it was sitting basically between my running pants and underwear (yeah, I am getting old, I know folks don't wear ...

Or eat more ice cream, obviously. That would tighten up my shorts. Or get shorts with suspenders. Both options should give you a charming appearance that I'll expect would have some innate decriminalizing properties. Lederhosen come to mind, but I imagine they would chafe something awful :zany
