This is a pleasant surprise! Hoping for a Native 5 G10 SE with a slightly larger (one less scallop) PE tip than the Native 5 LW SE...
But I'm not picky :)

Re: is the Cruwear Manix 2 THE best example of the design?
Cruwear would resist chipping much better than S30V, and some of the other high carbide stainless steels, but the Military's liner lock might not be too happy about regular 'batoning/light chopping'. For that you need an ESEE 6... :p

Very jealous, and great pics... a standard PM2 would also be my choice for EDC on such a trip.

Re: From safe queen to pocket carry (PM1)
It is great to see that you decided to use a knife with so much potential after so many years! It must have taken some bravery to modify a unique model like this D2 SE PM1... I have also modified quite a few of mine. Not necessarily huge mods, but useful changes to make a knife more friendly for mys...

Re: Caught my wife in the act! (Hooray!)
I bought my wife a Vic Compact some time ago (smallest full size SAK with scissors) to keep in her handbag. At first she thought it was a bit silly, but she has come to depend on the scissors and tweezers. Every now and again I catch her using the main blade too, and my heart swells with pride. :) I...

Re: DIY Serrated G10 Native 5
Nice!
I have been looking hard at the Native 5 LW serrated since they have been released. FFG SE's are not so common these days, and I prefer the way it cuts over the hollow ground SE's. I plan to grab one soon to keep the SE Military company.

Re: Idea for new Salt/Outdoor model...your opinions?
I am keen to try a Military Salt in LC200N, FFG with a 75% serrated edge. But for a dirty user I would want a flow through design for easy cleaning, like the current Military with stand-offs, rather than a closed back with nooks and crannies (the back-lock innards) like the Pacific Salt/Endura. I vo...

This old thing again... :D
I am now quite bummed-out that I missed the G10 FFG sprint in 2009, but that was before my Spydie addiction started.

Re: Flippers: Fun, Flash, Fashion but…
I also agree with your sentiments Michael. I do not own any flippers because I much prefer the simpler, and in theory more robust designs with a simple opening hole. That said, I was very impressed by the following opening mechanism. It's a very elegant and unobtrusive "flipper" design wit...

That is an impressive list... It must have taken ages to compile. Did you actually watch all of those movies and tv shows?

Re: Farid releases K2 customs in Rex 121
I see these are the "Mini" K2's, with 3.8 inch blade, 5.6 oz weight. Interesting: Patent pending "almost round" opening hole... http://images.knifecenter.com/thumb/1500x1500/knifecenter/faridmehr/images/FHMK2MTt.jpg I like the industrial and bronze-ti look, but it doesn't tick al...

This JD Smith from 1999-2000... I carried it over the weekend. It has such nice ergos and size, told myself yesterday I will just have to get over myself and carry it more often.
