I seem to recall that sal said they were planning a full range of similar kitchen knives to make a set. A larger chef's knife would be nice.

I know that some bicycles are made with 3Al/2.5v. It's so much easier to machine apparently. I'm not sure if the knife industry uses this as well.

Handle looks more flat. Bowie seems to be highly recommended.
How is the blade shape? Tip pretty usable?

I vote that you give the sharp maker a try. You have it. Maybe watch the video and start on a couple kitchen knives or other knife first to get the hang of it. Then just go for it. It's not so bad. Take your time. Pushing harder doesn't help. Keep the blade straight. You can do it.

Mine arrived Friday. It's now in hand. Blade is a bit stiff. Guess I will be working it over tonight to loosen things up.

I like ti but don't overlook stainless. My foundry has no scratches that I can see and it gets a lot of pocket time. The ti, yes. The high polish like the pits is the worst.
