fredswartz, I think samo missed the second part of your post. I think the answer to your question is Military and Military. :D

Thanks, samo. I'm always looking for your most recent adventures/pictures. As usual, it looks like you're having alot of fun. My guess is that you must have taken a picture of the shop owner's pretty daughter--how about posting a picture of her too. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 a...

Hi samo, thanks for sharing your trip with us again. Man, that G-3 can produce some nice pictures. (I almost bought a Canon S45 a few weeks ago but think that I'll wait for the Olympus C-750 UZ). Some folks here (in the US) have commented about their SpyderCard as being "rust-prone." What ...

Military (I'm still trying very hard to like this knife) Civilian/Harpy/Merlin (The sweethearts) Dragonfly (Might ...

martin, are you suggesting that a knife that has an engraved, concave design as an opening device would result in a slower opening and as a result be looked at more favorably by the law? It would not be a bad idea to engrave the spyder logo as a replacement for the trademark Spyderco hole (similar t...

It is not difficult to see why we all love our Viele's. It's a great design expertly constructed with high quality materials. I have the updated/upgraded version, too. My personal modification was to replace the chrome clip with a black one from a Zowada. (Fyi, the clip screws on the Viele were of a...

I guess it's a personal thing whether someone likes the chrome clip or the black clip. I happen to like the black clip against the carbon fiber and think Spyderco made the "right" decision to go this route. I have a Benchmade 705 forum knife that has carbon fiber scales and a polished stai...

Very interesting reading here. But shouldn't there be a disclaimer in this thread? For example: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, don't try this at home. Posters are professional sharpeners. Your results may vary and most likely be detrimental to your knife if you don't know what you're do...

The JD Smith was a long ago, favorite EDC for me. Although the misalignment between the blade and the locking bar was not typical of the usual Spyderco precision construction, it did not render the knife inoperable or unsafe. I still have my early numbered Smith (which probably came from that bankru...

I'd take the combo-edge Wegner. Great slicer, strong tip, G-10 grip, and excellent ergonomics. In a combat role, however, black coating on the blade and a black clip would give it more stealth. (BC-1 treatment?).

3knife, I guess you've learned what some of us have experienced--that once you've handled the Shabaria, it's hard to put it down (both literally and figuratively speaking). Blades, I wasn't aware of the larger pre-pro Shabaria's. I've always felt that the handle design seemed more appropriate for a ...

zardoz, sorry to hear about the "defects" on your Ti Herbst. I see the serial number of your Herbst is relatively low--is this a knife that was distributed in Europe? (I also notice you're posting from the U.K.). Perhaps, the U.S. distributed Herbsts were from later runs that addressed som...

As dialex mentioned, the Shabaria was designed after some middle eastern traditional daggers. Post spacers rather than solid spacers (to make cleaning easier) would be nice, too.
