Re: Show us your lanyards!
A few years back I picked a few knots I wanted to learn, (2 strand diamond, snake knot, square knot, 4 strand diamond) then I'd watch a few different tutorials on each knot and screen shot the best parts. After some trial and error I was able to mash it all together into my own thing and get knot c...

Re: Show us your lanyards!
Hyena Pattern, Bear Knife Those look good! Hey thanks! Yours are much more interesting and I hope to learn some of those more advanced knots as soon as I have time. Do you have a particular Youtube Channel or Website you like to use for this? I've noticed that some of the Paracord tutorial videos o...

Yeah, tried for over 2 hours…even had 1 in my cart…. wouldn’t let me checkout due to “Fraud suspicion or VPN issue” when I’m in the U.S., don’t use VPN, and have bought on the site before. Otherwise, over 2 hrs. of connection issues. Crap 👎 . I feel your pain. That was a terrible way to spend half ...

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale Scores
This was rough. In the end I got a Cento to try, plane ol' Native 5 LW and the Crucarta PM2. I mostly wanted one of the new screw construction Manix 2 LWs, any of them. I had all 3 that I could tell had screws in the pic in my cart, along with a Maxamet Sage at about 30m after sale started. One by o...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
On most smart phones when you're using a camera app you can tap to focus. You can also tap and hold to lock the focus. I do that and then move the phone closer or further away as needed to focus on the part of the edge I'm trying to capture. Taking photos of edges isn't easy but this helps. ihpones...

Re: Spyderco Online Factory Seconds Sale!
Dumb question, but the info you use to login to the forum is the same you use for the general site, correct? I'm trying to log in for checkout (probably out of stock by now). Either I get a message that the site is unavailable or wrong username or password. Just want to make sure I'm using the corr...

Re: Spyderco Online Factory Seconds Sale!
Got as far as the shipping options selection screen and then it stopped loading. This is painful. Is there a time period that items in cart are reserved or is this stuff going to be gone by the time I finally get through?

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
Did some work on my Military today. Cleaned it, lubed it, loc-tite on every screw, pivot perfectly dialed, and of course worked on the edge. Goal was to take it thinner and coarser than it was, and get it cleanly shaving right off my chefknivestogo 140 grit diamond plate.... Very clean looking edge...

Re: Spyderco Online Factory Seconds Sale!
I'm about to give up. I saw the available knives but couldn't add anything to cart, now nothing loads. There are 15v Manix 2's. I don't need one, but I hope someone who missed out gets a decent user.

Nice write up. I'll try one of those CBN stones and see how well they work for me. Sounds like a good deal! I use a $12 system for all my pocket knives. I guess you could call it a $6 system as I only use the two lowest grit sides. https://www.harborfreight.com/4-sided-diamond-hone-block-92867.html...

Re: Sharpening 15v steel with less than $50 of supplies and why my guided system collects dust. (Baryonyx+CBN Plates)
This is the type of sharpening I LIVE for…freehand on inexpensive diamond plates, stropping with diamond compounds. I’ve sharpened all of my 15v this way and it works like a charm. Ive been using two-sided sharpals (325/1200) for the last 3-4 years…with the occasional dmt or atoma if I’m feeling sa...

Re: Sharpening 15v steel with less than $50 of supplies and why my guided system collects dust. (Baryonyx+CBN Plates)
Sidenote: BBB + Spyderco killed it with this one, but I think that I like the AEB-L even better, which doesn’t make any sense. Easily my best sharpening experience to date has been with the AEB-L Mule. No need for diamonds or CBN, sharpens on almost anything and still holds the working edge well eno...

Re: Sharpening 15v steel with less than $50 of supplies and why my guided system collects dust. (Baryonyx+CBN Plates)
Now, the elephant in the room- the convexing is real, dude. I won’t say convexing never killed anybody, but I will say it does not hurt, especially on a knife with this hard of steel, steel that is capable of a high level of stability and acuteness (word???) at the apex. I don’t know if I have to ma...
