I guarantee .......
That’s fairly simple, deposit the cost of the R&D and cost to manufacture the run before any markups for Spyderco and the retailers into Spyderco’s account and the guarantee is in place. US$100k should do the trick ;)

Re: Gentleman Jess(Baby Horn)

From memory, Moki made the Jess Horns. Until fairly recently they also used to make the Al Mar Osprey / Hawk / Falcon / Eagle series which is similar in design to the Jess Horns (Spydiehole being the biggest difference). The basics of what you want (bolsters, fancy handle material) is probably achie...

Re: Anyone else Aeropress coffee?

At home I use a mocha pot or my Nespresso machine but I got myself an Aeropress when I was traveling a lot - indestructible and much better than the sachets of instant at hotels. Easier to empty and clean and “cleaner” coffee than a French press. I use mine upside down and let the coffee brew before...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

https://i.postimg.cc/NGkH8CjM/IMG-3322.jpg I have a soft spot for the Japanese made knives that aren't FRN ... I suspect we aren't going to see many again any time soon. It's been a while since I carried this, the clip was always too stiff and felt like it didn't have any "spring" in it so I took i...

Re: S30V Support Club

S30V and VG10 are my most used steels. They have a nice balance of properties for my general (light) daily cutting chores. I prefer not having one property shining to the possible detriment of others, I like the balance. The good thing about S30V is that it’s been around long enough for everyone to ...

Re: Centofante

A Centofante reboot in some shape or form comes up every few months. My standard request In those threads has been ZDP-189 and British Racing Green scales. I can even live with the pinned construction. I don’t recall ever having seen a comment from Spyderco in any of those threads regarding the poss...

It was cold and rainy last night so good glass of red wine in front of the fire was the right answer.

Took a drive out to the farm this morning to replace the one I opened last night, the joys of living in wine country.

https://i.postimg.cc/NjxvrNfn/IMG-3221.jpg My day started with yesterday's Delica 3 in my pocket but I've switched to this ... and as I ask myself every time I carry it, WHY was this sprint done in combo edge??? Crowned spine, no jimping, smooth micarta, a really nice almost gents knife and then .....

Centofantes two days in a row ... flat ground, thin stock, serrated wharnie - before it's time.

Re: Spearfishing Blade

Scuba diving was my principal hobby for more than 25 years. I continually fiddled with my gear in an attempt to get it perfect. As a result I ended up with a shed of failed experiments that included more than a few knives. The knife on my current openwater rig is an Enuff Salt, not perfect but close...

Re: What is Mini Bugout Equivalent for Spyderco?

I’m going to throw the Centofante III into the ring. Similar blade length, thin blade stock, maximized cutting edge. Enough difference to keep it interesting - hollow vs flat grind, studs vs hole, back lock vs axis. The Centofante III is a fantastic knife, often overlooked. Edit : oops, missed the ...

Re: Mule Team Picture/Appreciation Thread!

I'd love to seem someone compare the flat Halpern scales with the 3d-contoured ones. Not great cell phone shots but they will give you an idea. Judging with my eye and a steel rule, the flats handle is 9 or 10mm thick, the contoured one about 17mm thick. The scales are very, very slightly smaller t...

C15 Bob Terzuola and C19 Bob Terzuola Jr., both with plain edges. :p
Yup, these two. Flat grind, polished G10 or micarta scales.

Add Centofante Memory in natural titanium rather than the blue ano.

Hmmm, models that came out between 1990 and 2010 .... my favourites would be (in no particular order) :

Lum Chinese
C25 Centofante
Centofante 3 (released in 2004 and still going unchanged)
Kopa

First generation, fully serrated Delica - my first Spyderco and all the things that made Spyderco an innovative player in the cutlery game - pocket clip, spyderhole / one hand opening, “interesting” design and teeth.

Re: Which Spyderco is your Gentleman folder?

There is definitely some disparity on what a “gentleman’s folder” actually is. Rightly or wrongly I see it as a knife that you could carry at a black tie gala function or a board meeting of a publicly listed company ... it’s functional jewellery like an elegant watch. It goes with a very good suit, ...

Re: KOPA Revisited Maybe?

I'm actually carrying mine today. As I've just mentioned in the "What are you carrying today thread", I prefer it to the similarly sized Dragonfly even if it has thicker blade stock. I'd like to see it return but I rather suspect it is unlikely. Sal mentioned a few years ago that the maker was no lo...
