This is one of those knives that I like so much, that I am tempted to pick up another one. I have pairs of the Kopa and Michael Walker. I can see more than one of these in my drawer. I am not a fan of metal handles, but I'll wait for something warmer to the touch. This is my first knife in S30V. I h...

I take it that you can loosen the screw and remove the clip without taking the clip all the way out and letting the scales slip. Is this so? Will the screw on the original side stay tight without the clip in place?
What size torx driver do you need for this?

I just got one in the mail. Handle size is just about identical to the Walker liner lock, but it is a bit thicker and slightly heavier. The blade, of course, is a little longer and thinner. The knife is more substantial than the linerlock, and feels sturdier. Fit and finish are fine, and I am glad t...

I ordered one and should get it in a few days. I don't think that it will displace the Walker from my pocket. While the blade length is greater by 5 mm, the Walker actually has a longer cutting edge. I'll carry the Walker in places where I think that it is a good idea to do so. I'll use the Chaparra...

I haven't measured, but I believe that the Rookie is the thinest - by far.

I just ordered one. I hope mine turns out to be nice. The handle is the same size as the
Michael Walker liner lock, but with a longer blade.

I just placed an order with CS. Great service and they seem to lube the knives for you.

Thanks. I will try that. I never use the clips, but just carry the knives in my pocket. Some knives are so narrow that the clip helps me grip the knife for one hand opening. I would bet that I won't need the clip for the Walker.

This is a positive addiction. People don't lose 20 years off their lives from collecting Spydercos - they just run up their charge accounts.

I would carry a slippy if going into NYC and a Kopa for Chicago.
I always want to keep legal.
If flying, I'll check a bag and have a small knife in my checked bag.

I just tried removing the clip from the Walker liner lock and when putting the screws in (without the clip) they extended too far into the frame for my taste.
Do most people just leave the holes there if they want to remove the clip?

I am not enthusiastic about the feel of metal handles, and they are not so great when it gets very cold. This is purely subjective, but I do like CF.
I am not sure which material would make a stronger handle, but I don't expect to test any pocket knife with enough stress to find out.

It looks good to me. How do you find the action of the knife when opening and closing, and is the blade well-centered?
My Caly 3 has an especially smooth action. I hope that this model is similar.

I am interested in getting one, but I'd like to see what people think of the production model - and I would really like to see a photo of one.
Has any one actually had a production model in their hand?
It looks like a winner to me.

I was just up in the NY area, but not in the city itself. I brought a slippy for use in the city, if I wanted to travel there.

I don't use the clips and have never lost a knife. I drop them in my pocket, with or without a clip, depending on how the knife came to me.
The only time I have not used in-pocket carry is for a fixed blade or a very long folder that required a sheath.

I haven't seen much difference in edge retention between ATS34, 154CM and VG10. I am not sure why, but I find VG10 much easier to sharpen than 154CM. I suspect that you can easily roll the edge and/or raise a wire edge with the 154CM. I generally use s strop or ceramic stones for VG10, but always wi...

I sure won't get one for $170, but would if the price comes in as advertised in the preorders. I am less likely to buy a knife as the price goes over $100 - I am running out of room in the drawer. If a knife is very nice and tempting, I'd go to perhaps $130 or so, but when the price runs up too high...
