"The big secret" is probably that they're not sure about either, and if they even hint at those things, we'll cling to them like grim death. I'm sure a large part of it is that they've been busy pushing out all those production knives we've been clamoring for: green pm2, yo2, tuff etc. Be ...

The idea of a "control group" is somewhat interesting, but as people will tell you, you'd really just be comparing this particular VG-10 with that particular new steel. I think user experience is the most important thing, and I don't think this requires "direct" side by side comp...

As has been mentioned, you always remember where you were. I wasn't born for Kennedy, but one of these type of events is enough for me. I happened to be taking a shower in my dorm on the University of MD when the news spread, so I watched most of the drama in a towel. It strikes me how many importan...

I should have known better than to open this can of worms. Now I need: 2xMoran (different blade shapes), 1xStreetBeat, 1xTemperance1! :p In seriousness, thanks all for the pics and opinions. One of the most interesting things about the pic comparison is that I didn't notice the absence of the lanyar...

Street Beat vs Bill Moran

I was thinking about picking up a smaller fixed blade. Not for anything too extreme, but for times when I know I'll need a knife for general tasks and don't want to go opening and closing repeatedly. I've been looking at both the Street Beat and the Bill Morans, and stat-wise, they seem similar: FFG...

It's not that they're sold out, it's that they're not pre-selling for US sales. You'll have to look in Dec.

Funny you should compare it this way. Every time I fill up, I consider buying a bicycle...and one spyderco per month.

As far as carbidizing (sp?) goes, you have to remember: whenever there's a hardness mismatch, one of the surfaces will wear. When carbidizing, you go from Steel (hard) wearing the Titanium (soft), to Carbide (hard) wearing the Steel (soft). Other than the sticking issue mentioned, I'm not sure it bu...

Yea, you really couldn't see that detail in any of the vendor's online pictures. It really adds visual interest and sets the whole design off. The silver CF looks awesome as well, Spyderco can throw that on as many knives as they like!
