I've been EDC'ing the L1S for about a year now. It is an excellent light. The fenix people are very helpful over email as well.

Hey, I love Benchmade knives. The 710 is a masterpiece.

Kershaw is great. They have top tier customer service
I've had good luck with Victorinox and Buck as well.

They were going to release a green (I believe) native in some other supersteel but I guess it got scrapped due to the steel being so tough IIRC. Someone else probably knows the steel.

The no kicker thing is great! Most blade you can pack in that handle. Be careful when handling knives! :p

Also, how'd you manage to do that? Did you flick the liner lock closed?!

Man Oh Man..... Thanks again Tony. ;) I can see now that I'm gonna want a Tenacious and a Rookie. I think the Rookie is probably going to be the only knife around $100 that I will be able to get this year. :) Maybe I'll work in a white Dragonfly. We'll see. Good info on prices. Weird. I am thinking...

Sure did! Working now to put a more acute angle on but the grind is excellent! The blade on the Persian is pretty thin to begin with.

Are the brown and white stones on the 701 Profile set the same as the brown and white ones that come with the Sharpmaker (other than the shape)?
That is correct.

Serrations tend to really scare some people. I've had friends remark on how vicious my Salt 1 SE in yellow looks. I can't think of any mentioning of a SE cricket scaring people but thats about it...Just something to keep in mind...

Definately the military. The manix series looks way too heavy and a ton harder to clean out. A poor choice compared to the military. The Military is light, slim and easy to carry, along with being open-backed with a liner lock that is not defeated by sand or debris. Totally opposite to the manix.
