I'm good with VG-10 or even better CTS-BD1N, plus it seems like Spyderco isn't a buyer of Sandvik steels and AFAIK Sandvik is the only company making this formula.

They use 12c27 in the Grasshopper, it would be cool to see Sandvik used in the Byrds and/or the budget Spydercos too

Just got my Polestar in the mail yesterday, in hand it feels like a Tenacious and Byrd Raven 2 had a baby haha.

Can't wait for this!!

Personally I feel that the Byrd Crow and Raven are a step above the budget Spyderco line. I had a Tenacious and loved it but my Raven has better steel, beefier build and i love forward finger choils. I'm pretty sure the liners are thicker on the Raven too.

Sal, would an upgrade to Sandvik be as much of a pricedifference? We're starting to see it on a lot of the budget chinese stuff

I was wondering if the blade from a Frn Hawkbill could be swapped onto a g10 Meadowlark frame, or if there any issues i might run into?
