Aesthetically, it's probably the most attractive knife Spyderco currently makes. The lines draw the eye like the curves on a sports car.

I like the chief as it is now, but I'd definitely try a comp lock version.

I would posit that QC is looking for defects - bad plunge grinds, obvious blade warps, cracks, etc. We know that items that make it to the seconds sale are safe to use while still not meeting QC standards. To me that indicates 3 buckets: Bucket 1: QC pass, these go out to the retailers and SFO. Buck...

So far the ivory G10 has held up well in my pockets.

in a pinch, hand sanitizer on a paper towel will remove tape residue pretty easily.

I doubt it's the hole that's the issue; eager to hear what Golden thinks once they have it in. I would guess fatigue affecting a defect already present in the steel.

Washing the scales with Dawn dish detergent will remove the oil.
