Re: Spydie Hole Hurting My Finger
that the soreness became very apparent as I opened my Endura one handed. I actually open it two handed most of the time, Not long after joining this forum, my finger began to hurt. There was this thing called a "Spydie Flick" that looks really cool on video, and it tends to piss off a lot...

Oh, no!
Got my engine set up for the big event tomorrow and pulled her over to give her a test run. Poof, poof, poof. Unhappy engine, she is. Turns out there was a blown gasket on the ignitor. Grrr. Luckily, I had a piece of cardboard and a razor sharp knife with which to solve the problem. It took two atte...

Re: Dear, Spyderco: Please stop using UPS
The UPS guy is cool. He's an older guy who takes time to BS. He's got a daughter in college and he plays an instrument. USPS guy is ok. If I'm out front or working in the garage, I'll go out and meet him so he doesn't have to open the mailbox. Amazon never has the same person twice. They're fast and...

The undersized scales are an intentional stylistic decision.
Does Spyderco REALLY have so much slop in their manufacturing that scales cannot be made to fit?

Re: On hold until expansion
I don't really follow Buck much, do they also do sprints and dealer exclusives? After reading the comment about Buck's custom shop, I had to google on over and see what they're all about. Indeed, you can order several of their models with different options. Neither the options nor their base models...

Here's another 15V shot.
The Manix 2 is the perfect knife for cutting up cauliflower.
For dicing onions, it's too short. But it was already dirty, and I didn't want to clean two knives.

It's dark right now, and I won't be able to take a shot tomorrow. But I'm making a note. Stay tuned.

Re: 15V Mule Team scale bolt holes
Holes on my Z-max(only one not in scales) are 0.187" consistently. That's 3/16, so it makes sense. The varying dimensions on your Mule seem odd. I've used precision ground dowel pins on my Mules, and the fit is about as perfect as one could hope. Maybe the Spydie Laser got dull and needs to be...

Glad it worked out.
I'm impressed that the Spyder Elves respected your request regarding the edge. Once I sent a knife back to another manufacturer with the same request, and it didn't turn out as well.

they discovered abandoned and forgotten coal mines underneath the site That's what they want you to think. Really, the site was chosen so they could mine the coal and use it to feed the new smelter and foundry that's being built. When the new facility is finished, the dodgy delivery schedules from ...

Re: Joy over function
I know this will be a boring answer but I find joy in function. Right on, brother. As a dirty, filthy, blue collar sort of guy, I derive great pleasure from building, doing, creating, using my hands, using my brain, using my tools. A tool that can't be used is a rock. No, it's lower than a rock. A ...

Definitely not a task that would have been expected from a steel like 15V. Let us know how the sharpening tasks go. It's all good now. Like I predicted, it's more than sharp enough for its intended use. Before replying, I stuck it under the scope. There are still a couple little dings visible, but ...

Here's one from the yard. It took a long time to get them to grow, but now I have a big patch that I have to hack back every winter. They're one of my favorites.

^Maybe I'm missing context but what did ya use that blade to cut? Weren't nothin' more than a small chunk of fuel hose in a remote location high on the mountain. Oh... and the hose had some steel reinforcing wire. A little later I'll whip out some stones and put on an edge suitable for the most del...

Here's pics of my Manix 2 in 15V.
Maybe it has a bad heat treatment AND the edge was burned during sharpening.

Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
I've taken a LOT of flower pics this spring. Here's a couple from the last few days. The first is in my yard. The others are from a road trip from which I just returned.
