The undersized scales are an intentional stylistic decision.

Does Spyderco REALLY have so much slop in their manufacturing that scales cannot be made to fit?

I don't really follow Buck much, do they also do sprints and dealer exclusives? After reading the comment about Buck's custom shop, I had to google on over and see what they're all about. The Manix 2 is the perfect knife for cutting up cauliflower.
For dicing onions, it's too short. But it was already dirty, and I didn't want to clean two knives.
