Alex,
My friend is looking for one. Let me check if he’s interested. Shipping from Oz here should be cheaper than US here :p

Re: What is this on the new Spydiechef lock bar?
Before believing this I would like to see some video of these discrepancies. neither of my CQI Chefs have exhibited this, granted one is a back up and the other gets used allot. Video can be easily uploaded to IMGR and shared here. I have purchased several knives that come from that factory and the...

Re: Experiences with walmart.com's Spyderco?
I’m interested in the Green Endura that the item name doesn’t contain ZDP but the description is ZDP. At 120$, would it be true? I’m asking friend to order when in US but will only know when it’s brought back here (he’s non knife person). Will Walmart make it right if there’s problem? Any counterfei...

Re: Steak Knife Recommendations
In my area, Tramontina makes set of 6 with wooden handle. Knowing their machete is reliable, I think their steak knives can’t be that bad. Haven’t bought any, but that’s because I use my pocket knives for many things and Victorinox in the kitchen. Edit: just re-read, you want PE. The Tramontina is S...

Pharmagator has it: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/spydercos-come-and-spydercos-go.1636852/page-2 That's about what my collection looked like a decade ago. Ended up selling off everything besides a PE Pacific Salt, SE Tasman, Police 3 and Aqua Salt. Only one I regret letting go of is my C95 Ma...

Re: Trouble sharpening Spyderco...
It seems the heel is sharpened at wider angle than the rest. Often happens on the show side on many knives (not only Spyderco). I am guessing it’s because of using belt system, when doing show side it is likely held by left hand and the person is right handed.

Definitely. It removes metal, so it’s going to dull them.Brock O Lee wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 3:48 amAgree...
Something to note though, the green Scotch-brite can easily dull a sharp edge if you are not careful. The proper technique is “edge trailing sponging”

Re: Sus410 Heavy scratched by my sink sponge
Green scrubbing/scouring pad (not the sponge) contains Chromium Oxide, which is same as the green polishing compound. It will scratch with enough pressure, especially when new. They even make polishing wheel from same material. http://www.op-insight.co.uk/images/product/extraLarge/RY61001.jpg For st...

Re: Anyone use a Sharpmaker to POLISH their Spyderco?
Nah, I don't polish my knives. I've given some of them a rougher finish in fact. https://i.imgur.com/Fgh8yxO.jpg I'd recommend sandpaper for polishing, it will take less time. But, the more polished your knife, the easier it is for scratches to show up, so it's a bit counter intuitive in my opinion...

Any tips for how to hold the knife and the stone? I'm having difficulty hitting the Apex every stroke, and sharpening away from me, I can't see the bevel I met a fellow many years back who sharpened with the stone inclined to the required angle (per side) on a home made Sine Bar setup sitting on a ...

Re: Free hand sharpening techniques
I’m too lazy to type long, Vivi has shared some insights ;). When technique improves, the parameters change, so something that didn’t work could change to become key factor. The subforum where these are posted is great resource too, even with the debate on raising burr or not (not on these threads):...
