Wasn't Sal in a movie with Kareem Abdul Jabbar and some other guy whose name escapes me?

"Why? They are both open construction and easily cleaned."

I had thought the PM2 had no cutouts in the liner but upon looking I was wrong.

The PM2 would be easier to clean after gutting and skinning. It has a better clip for carry too.

Got a shipping notice from KC, they're using Fedex which has a bad rep here for raping consignees on customs duties and documentation. Might well have been cheaper for me to buy on the secondary. :( I just learned that the hard way. I had a bank card sent to me via FedEx and they got me for over P3...

Don't know the exact model or such but my Dad had a small penknife that said Tree Brand on it so I presume it was a Boker.

I found that by putting a dab of CLP on a rag and wiping the blades not only brought back the shiny black look but made the blade slicker. I am one who believes in putting something on the blades to prevent corrosion. If the DLC has any scratches on it that would be a entry point for rust. One note ...

I hope this forum does not turn into another Blade Forums what with all the drama over there. Can we keep it civil?

This question comes up about once a month here. There is no one answer. There are the faithful who use Nano oil, FrogLube, Militech, and other brands. By all accounts these are good products and you cannot go wrong with them. In my selection of lube products, I like to use something that is not only...

I agree. Talk to customer service at Spyderco and find out what they say. The stocks of Para2's seem to be picking up so you may not have to wait long for a replacement.

I will venture to say that the DLC coating does protect the blade from rust and corrosion. The edge is still there though so one should wipe the blade and maintain it as usual. Just a good habit to keep on any blade.

One wood that looks good for knife scales is Tasmanian Myrtlewood in the burl form. Some beautiful wood there. http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=aaplw&va=tasmanian+myrtle+burl I am sensing a generational shift maybe as younger folks prefer the synthetic material...

There are eco-friendly plantations that grow mahogany, as well as other species of wood but whether that wood is free of stability problems could only be answered by the experts. I'm sure that idea has been brought up before. The new Valloton has a nice look and classy too. I have researched some Ja...

Sal made a good point about the stability of wood. The wood of today is not the same as the wood of yesteryear. Older growth and straight grains made for stronger wood way back when. In the family we have some old wooden handled knives as well as other items that look as good today as they probably ...

I have had my Southard since the spring and it is a dandy knife for sure. It has been my carry ever since. A month after I got it I decided to put it to the Sharpmaker even though it didn't need it. I used the 30 degree setting. I haven't touched the edge since then. It has cut everything from paper...

Caveat Emptor is as relevant today as it was before. It is not only Ebay but other selling sites have the same issues. Go to Amazon and check the prices on the camera JNewell mentioned. The compressor is a good idea but if the budget will not allow it, a cheap alternative would be a can of compressed air. They usually stock these in electronics or computer stores. Not as powerful as a compressor but it should do the trick to blow out any dust or lint and also any excess water if yo...
