Re: Spydercos best "bang-for-the-buck" - knife?!

I think the Chap LW is the best value in a Spyderco for the reasons already listed. I don't think the Delica and Endura are the values they used to be. I also think the Tenacious is beaten out by some competitors.

Re: Why put liners in the Delica?

Just curious, what do you guys do that require so much corrosion resistance? Apparently I have fairly corrosive sweat. And I'm a bit rotund. And I live in Southern Indiana, where it gets rather hot and humid in the summer. So, my body size and the climate where I live cause my pores to output quite ...

Jut wondering if anyone has the canon PowerShot camera
Which one? PowerShot is Canon's name for all of their P&S cameras. There's also not a Canon P&S that's pocket sized and has a viewfinder.

Re: Point and shoot camera

Thanks for the suggestions but I think I am looking for something that I can put in my pocket But I am not going to be to be to picky because I just started looking so I think what I want I don’t know if it exists. Anyways I might be leaning towards canon because I am already used to it . Sorry for...

Re: Question re: military pricing

be prepared to see some logical gymnastics. it’s the same with the shaman. some people are more than happy to justify the prices that don’t seem to make sense. honestly, i don’t understand most of the prices, but there are a few models that are well worth their cost. at least there’s no argument th...

Re: Why put liners in the Delica?

Thanx for the kind words, Tangent. Another point to liners is providing a very rigid, obstinate hole for pivots. Whether or not the extra strength in the "real world" makes a difference is something we're still testing and learning. sal Sal, have y'all looked into using a hex (or other po...

Re: Why put liners in the Delica?

The rigidity added by the liners is just as ''important'' as the weight spared by taking them off.To each it's own,but i don't understand this anti-liner movement.Maybe it's a wish to relive times gone by,when we where young, and linerless? I'm with you. Except for Salt models, I completely fail to ...

Re: Point and shoot camera

What's a good zoom to you? Are you more concerned about telephoto, wide angle, both? How much do you care about low light performance? Do you need fast focusing for sports or wildlife? Do you care about video capability? How much battery life do you want? How big of a P&S are you willing to carry?

If you think this one is hard to get wait for the one everyone actually asked for...lol! The CRUWEAR/Micarta Shaman won't be in stock for more than seconds at most retailers. I really hope they anticipate the demand and do the run in both DLC and Stonewash to increase the number available and give ...

Re: Closing one handed: Faster with a backlock than with a compression lock.

The thread actually reminds of gun forum debates on semi-auto vs revolver reload speeds. Yes, a skilled user with lots of practice can reload a revolver faster than an average user can reload a semi, but in equally skilled and practiced hands the semi will be faster to reload. The average user will ...

Re: Native 5 pricey

Comparing the two models in base S30V blades and G10 handles it's a $9.10 price difference. Somehow the Manix 2 in the same materials is almost $27 less expensive than the PM2. Also, the Native Chief, with it's one inch longer blade and correspondingly longer handle, is only going to be $6.50 more t...

Re: Is the Delica being discontinued?

This is true, but in my opinion, the Delica has the best blade shape of all the models listed in this thread. It's not the thinnest, but it's a really nice shape for most cutting tasks. The Delica has the perfect amount of belly(almost none). The blade is not tall either, which makes it more versat...

Re: Closing one handed: Faster with a backlock than with a compression lock.

... I do agree backlocks have their places to be in other places though, and that their strength is superior to any other locking mechanism by a long shot. The next strongest lock which I think is the BBL/Axis lock has only a fraction of the strength of a decent BL. Hopefully Sal or someone else fr...

Re: Is the Delica being discontinued?

The chap lw, para3 lw, and native lw all lack the blade shapes, grinds, and color options that the Delica has to offer. And none of those offer any Japanese steels. You can't get a chap with blue scales, a para 3 with a wharncliffe, or a native in HAP40. Also all but the delica lack a wave opener O...

I like bright colors because they tend to make a knife less intimidating to non knife people. Bright colors also make it easier to find a knife that you've laid down and perhaps misplaced.

Re: Is the Delica being discontinued?

All joking aside, I think the Delica is facing some serious internal and external competition. The Chaparral LW with wire clip and even thinner CTS-XHP blade is only $11 more. The USA made Para 3 LW, with the currently very popular Comp lock and wire clip, is only $13 more. Buck's 112 Slim Ranger Pr...
