Re: Sal, anything you´d like to share on the Golden made BACKLOCK Polestar? (Another "handle forward" knife?)

i'd strongly consider a golden-made 4" polestar style knife in either lock. i like the backlock because it's ambidextrous, but i prefer the comp lock because it's more of spyderco dna in a given design. either is fine though, and a 4", handle forward, leaf blade is very compelling. it woul...

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

it appears that the opsfocus discount applies to the normal msrp and not the sale price. bummer. i was looking at snagging a few i've been thinking about.

Re: What is your favorite Delica variant?

i didn't like the delica really at all until this past year or so. i still don't have a standard version in my collection at all, but i've used them a little. my current delicas are the saber ground damascus blade with grey/black zome scales, the knifejoy exclusive 20cv wharncliffe, and the emerson ...

Re: thoughts on a Spyderco Machete

i'd love a spyderco machete, but without a doubt, it would be far too expensive for me to actually buy. my ontario cutlass machete has served me quite well for the last ten years (aside from giving me the gift of ten stitches in my thumb), and my next large blade purchase is probably going to be a s...

Re: Does side to side blade play matter?

i lived with all kinds of play for a decade in my sog flash ii. i ultimately moved on to higher end knives for a better feel. ultimately, it was a perfectly adequate knife, even with the blade play.

Re: Spyderco 2024 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

is anyone else as hyper excited to get a Military 2 with CF/S90V as I? i think i'm going to give cruwear a chance in pe and get my first military. i'm also excited about potentially giving the spymyto, a native chief lw salt, and a stretch 2 salt a try. still need that manix salt as well. too many ...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

i don't think i mentioned it, but i would probably edc a small fixed blade concealed if the laws were different. i'd like to be able to carry my mini tracker in my back pocket or in a bag without worrying about legal issues.

Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.

So what you want is a Spyderco Machete? With teeth? that would be super cool. A Spyderco Machete WOULD be cool indeed, but with teeth?! .. even I as an SE guy think Sal was rather kidding with the "teeth" part - ?! (unless those teeth are perhaps on the spine, additionally to the main Mac...

Re: Corrosion Reports

If you want the strength of a liner, but without the corrosion risk, perhaps the liner could be embedded within the FRN. I've thought about that as well, and I have to imagine there's a reason why it hasn't been done. I wish they'd at least just go back to solid FRN on the Salt series if nothing el...
